Last Minute Halloween

All That Scraps has a challenge for a last minute Halloween project using a stamp that is sold from their web site.  I used a digital stamp called "Hero" and mounted it on a Halloween take out box.  I am going to use this one for a small gift for my seven month old nephew who isn't able to have Halloween candy this year.

I cut the image out and put attached it to an classic scalloped oval nestabilities from orange glitter core-dinations.  The box has a metallic shine of being black with candy corn shapes on it.
Inside the box is a "Happy Thanksgiving" bib to get ready for the next holiday.

Bee-lieve

I have a co-worker that is a survivor of breast cancer.  A discussion came up that since it is breast cancer awareness month that we should do something special for her.  I offered to make the card.  This is what I came up with, and I decided I would submit it for the Bugaboo Challenge.  It uses the Bugaboo breast cancer bear digital image along with a bee from Whipper Snapper Designs along with the sentiment.

Cardstock- Baazil

Marvin & Clara

The Stamping Baazar has it's first challenge this week.  It involves a sketch, and you must use one of their stamps.  They have a set of digital stamps that I purchased with Marvin the bat.  He is the ONLY bat that I think is cute.  We have bats around in our area because we have so many trees, and I don't find them quite as adorable.

The next card I did using Clara from Kraftin' Kimmie for this weeks challenge which also involves a sketch.  I used the Basic Grey paper and Amuse green ginham to coordinate and for the skirt.  I added some pearls along with some stitching.

Envelope Card #2

I decided not to submit the card I did yesterday for the Envelope Challenge since I decided it was more of a pocket than an envelope.  So I went back to the drawing board.... and this is what I came up with.  I used this Anya image and a Quic Kutz envelope die and added a computer sentiment.  I used this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #90 for the layout design.

My daughter is a princess and so is my mother.  My Father and brother would go target shooting and I would make my Dad take me along.  His response was, "Girls don't shoot guns.", but he would allow me to do it.  It was my way of spending time with my Father doing a sport that he enjoyed, and when I met my now ex-husband it was great when I was able to surprise him and out shoot him.  What he told his Father is that it was cloudy when I shot, and the sun was in his eyes when he shot.  Poor sport, my Dad taught me well.  For gifts my Father has bought my brother shot guns and rifles, and when I asked why I did not get any he said, "I know you, you would use it."  So I have not received a gun from my Father, but I can send him cards with girls that have one.

Find the Cure

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month there are quite a few challenges using that as a theme.  Since my mother was diagnosed last year with the disease this is something that hits close to home for me.  Until recently, I worked with quite a few breast cancer patients so the think pink is something I can do.  My mother has the dreaded triple negative so she was node negative; however, she went through chemotherapy and radiation.  She is finally getting her hair back and has recently stopped wearing her wigs.  I thought this would make a perfect card for her, and luckily she doesn't read my blog.  This card uses the Pixie Dust sketch and digital image.

Test tube brew

Sunday October 24, 2010

It has continued to rain all day so I was able to get another card in today.  I did manage to do some cleaning which I tend to put off during the week and color an image instead.  For this card I plan to submit it to There She Goes Challenge which is a Color Challenge of orange, green, and black and I used the test tubes from the Chemistry set.  I used this weeks sketch from SFYTT for the design of the card.  This card will also be used for the C4C60 Halloween theme.
Then I used the honey mad scientist from All that Scraps digital image along with 2 spiders from Recollections.  The patterned paper is Cloud 9 and the border punch dripping green goo is Martha Stewart.  The orange arrow is from Pebbles Co.  I used Diamond Glaze on the Honey's glasses and the test tubes to make it look like glass.  Nestabilities label 11, card stock bazzil, and core dinations.

Twine & distress

Sunday October 24, 2010

Jen from Wild Flower Patch has the challenge being to use twine.  I love using twine with buttons and do so on a regular basis.  I think it looks great with this pumpkin patch image from Karen's Doodles.  Karen has a challenge to use distressing on your card which I was able to incorporate both of these things into this one card.  I also used a chipboard swirl from Pebbles, Co to add a little flair and to try to give the feel of the vines of the pumpkin.  It is raining today and a little cooler so that the thought of some warm pumpkin seeds actually sounds appealing.

Leaves and more leaves

Friday October 22, 2010

We have LOTs of trees surrounding our house so that means we have LOTs of leaves falling.  My husband spent a long time blowing them out of the gutters since they are predicting rain from Saturday through Tuesday for us.  It was a cooler day on Thursday so it finally felt like fall.  When I purchased some soda at the grocery store I received two pumpkins free so now I have some decorations outside.

For the Crazy for Challenges (C4C59) this week is a fall theme.  I made a card today using the paper from The Paper Loft - Autumn Splendor along with the Nestibilities Harvest Leaves.  I used the sentiment from Close to My Heart and the die cut from Paper Trey.

I also made a card using the sketch for this week Kenny K Challenge.  I chose to use the image of one of the new Christmas stamps.  The look of this image reminds me of my daughter which is fitting to have the shopping girl.

One Queen

Tuesday October 19, 2010

There are days that I feel this way, "There can only be one queen and I'm it.".  I thought this studio g sentiment was perfect with the digital Mo Manning Two Jill image.  This is one that I plan to submit for the Color Create Challenge (cream, pink, green)#55 using this weeks SFYTT sketch.  I have made this card an easel card so that I could include some flowers and a crown with some bling on the bottom.  Frosted was another component of the challenge, but I added glitter core-dinations paper behind my image.  The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye and I added some lace to try to soften the harsh look on Jill's face and to go with the princess theme.  I colored Jill with my Copics and used Memento ink on the sentiment.

Play Santa

Saturday October 16, 2010

Kenny K came out with new Christmas digital images this past week so that is what is incorporated into the Challenge.  My son was shocked when I purchased some Kenny K images so I asked him to pick out the Christmas one.  At first he was saying, "I don't care."  Then he finally chose Mrs. Claus.  I used some fur trim that I purchased from JoAnn Fabrics and prima poinsettias with crystals in the center.  I love this line of paper by My Mind's Eye - Lush and the glitter Core-dinations.  I used Nestilbilities.

Jazzy and Josie

Wednesday October 13, 2010

This weekend I was able to win the new Josie in a Hat stamp from Stamping Baazar which is so adorable.  I just can't wait to make a project with it.  It reminds me of one of our cats (we have four) who likes to sleep in a box.  Last month when I purchased some raspberries from Costco, Jasmine, or otherwise known as Jazzy, has found it to be a place she likes to sleep.  I went to Target and purchased her a fluffy cat bed, but she won't have anything to do with it instead she LOVES the box.

Here is a card that I did using the Balloon Kaylee digital image by Some Odd Girl which is having a challenge to use fabric.  The patterned paper is fabric paper that I stitched and it is has a glue backing called Dear Lizzy by American Crafts.  The sketch is Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 88.  Also this will qualify for the Crazy for Challenges 58 Birthday Theme.

Baby & Halloween

Tuesday October 12, 2010

The Wild Flower Patch has a challenge of anything goes as long as it involves their image.  I used one of the new witch images following this weeks Taylor's Expression sketch 131.

Markers: Copic

For my Second Card I made a card for my six month old nephew, who will be celebrating his first Christmas this year.  I used Mo Manning's Digital image "Kai in the snow" and submitted it for  Pixie Dust's Baby Challenge this week and I used this weeks Card Patterns Sketch 85.  I think Christmas is going to be fun this year with a baby since my kids are teen-agers.  There is nothing like seeing the beauty of the season through the eyes of a child.

Altered Notebook

Friday October 8, 2010

The Greeting Farm had a challenge for an altered notebook  This is what I came up with using the Digital image of Devilish Anya.  I all too often find myself going to the scrapbook store for an item then once I am there I find wonderful fun items, but I forget the original item that I needed for a project that I am working on so that is why I designed this notebook.  Which leaves me spending too much money and my husband tells me that I have enough supplies to open my own store.  I used My Minds Eye Lush paper and a chipboard book.  I added some flowers and cystals by Recollections.

Swirls

Wednesday October 6, 2010

This week the challenge at Pixie Dust is swirls.  I used this Paper Studio red and green swirled paper that was outlined in silver glitter.  The image is Greta the Green from Pixie Dust.  The Merry Christmas stamp is from Hero Arts with the addition of a velvet ribbon and a satin bow.  The sketch is from this weeks Verve design 3.  I entered this in this weeks Bugaboo Challenge.  I tried to enter it in the Verve Challenge in which the link was to be open until 11:59 pm; however, it was closed when I tried after my daughter's Homecoming football game a little after 11 pm central time.

You're Tweet

Sunday October 3, 2010

I have been working on a project for my daughter.  She is having a team dinner on Tuesday evening and needs 18 treat bags and picked a Kraftin' Kimmie image for me to stamp on all of them.  I am trying to match everyone's hair color so I have completed the 7 blond and 3 light brown and now I am taking a break.  I have 3 dark brown, 3 black and 1 red to go.  Then putting them together.

I decided to quickly do a card for the Little Paper Shop Challenge using Yellow, Brown, and Orange since I am not using those colors for the project I am working on.  I used my Copics to color this image of You're Tweet and added prima flowers with some studio 18 crystals.  I used a Fiskar border punch.

Halloween colors

Friday October 1, 2010

I can't believe that it is October first already.  I feel like I am already behind since I don't have my Halloween decorations out.  I did work on a project for the Bugaboo Challenge this week which is to do a 3D-Halloween.  I put the witch feet on the side of the Chinese take out box that is in black which I got from Michael's.  I thought this would be a great gift for putting in some treats.  I actually wanted some candy corn after I colored the witch stockings.

I also did a card for the Kraftin Kimmie Challenge which is to use the colors green, orange, and purple.  I just received today my new set of stamps so I was able to use the Annette, Glamor Girl.  I did her dress in green and purple and gave her an orange necklace with shades of carmel and orange hair.  The paper is by the Yellow Bicycle Co.  I used this weeks Taylor Expressions Sketch 129 for this card.
