Hair raising

I just love Mo's digital images, and my first ever digital image that I started with was "Angelina's balloons".  For the card I made, I actually colored the image last summer when we were on vacation, and just never found the time to put it together.  I thought it would work for Mo's challenge this week which is celebrations.  This just reminds me of my daughter who has the finest hair and what balloons would do to her.

Feeling blue

I worked last night so usually I go ahead and sleep right away, but I just couldn't do it today.  I had too many things on my mind so I needed a little time to relax first so I worked on this blue card using the Tiddly Ink Challenge.  I'm hoping that the blue will help to calm and relax like all the studies for colors say.

Card worthy

I made this card for my step-daughter who is 28years old and lives and Florida.  I spent a lot of time coloring her and I have not sent her a Halloween card before.   She doesn't send me birthday cards so I usually do not make cards for her.  I tend to give my cards to people who I know will appreciate all the hard work and effort that I put into them or as I refer to it the person needs to be "card worthy."  It is funny, the person who I have found that comments the most and questions me about my techniques is my father.  He went shopping with me at the Mall of America and was in Archiver's and commented about the price of the items so I know he appreciates the value of the card.  He also went and was showing people one Christmas a scrapbook that I made for him, and I was told by several people how he was explaining it.   That is when you feel good about your accomplishment.

Cats

Since I have four cats, I guess that it is no surprise that I love stamps that have them too.  The first stamp is by Krista Smith called "Becca and Bo" in which this cat acts like my all black cat Nala who likes to rub up against my leg when I am on my computer.  The second card has a stamp by Karen's Doodles called "Christmas Tree Kitty" in which I have found my Siamese cats in the Christmas tree before and that is why we have an artificial tree.  I have also made sure that all the ornaments are on with string and not hooks so the cats won't get hurt and try to make sure that they are not breakable.

Temps

On Monday, my son Trevor got his driving temps.  We went to the DMV and got the license and then drove to the church parking lot for his first behind the wheel experience.  He did a good job - a little fast on the backing up, but overall it was a good experience.  Then Tuesday I picked him up after school and we went again to the church parking lot and he did some practicing and said, "I'm ready to try going on the road."  So we did.  He realized putting it all together with watching your speed, other cars, being in your lane, watching for people crossing in the middle of the street/walking their dogs, and so on was a lot so we made it a few blocks and back to the church parking lot where he needed to stop and actually breathe.  He listened to my feedback (which doesn't always happen these days), and calmly said, "I think that is enough for today."  I was actually glad that he has realized that driving is a serious thing.  I made this card for him which he laughed this morning when he got it.

Unconditional love

My best friend, Kris, had to put her dog, Max down.  Max was suffering and had been going to the vet for his health issues, but he had a rare blood disorder and had received transfusions and was not responding.  Kris has been through many turmoils and Max has always been there for her so she is now missing him greatly.  I made this card for her.

Fall inspired

Cool nights, leaves turning colors, raking....fall is definitely here.  My brother-in-law came and helped with some raking which is GREATLY appreciated since we have a wooded lot.  I actually had to have "Critter Control" out when my husband was in the hospital because we had squirrels in our attic.  My father came and put a screen over our attic vent so hopefully we won't be getting more visitors.  The trees are beautiful, but we have had our fair share of animal run ins with the squirrels and the wood peckers who love our cedar siding.  Critters.  So my card today used a Kenny K image of "Queens Cutie" since I wasn't critter friendly today after paying my squirrel removal bill.

Puffy snow

I used liquid applique on two of my cards today for a snow effect, and it was fun and easy to do.  My first card is a Mo Manning image called Siku and Shiya giving each other an Eskimo kiss.  The challenge this week is an image inspired by a song, "Eskimo Kiss" by the Nooks is a song that I had in mind for this card.  The other image is Krista Smith's Snowman which is available on her new site Saturated Canary.  I have to say we are starting to get some cooler weather, but I am not looking forward to snow/winter just yet.  My third card I adapted this week's Mojo for my Boss's Day Card.  I stamped the flowers partially on the card which is a challenge for There She Goes this week.

Mavis

Christy Croll just came out with this new image of Mavis which I found adorable.  I have three Siamese cats so you know where I found my coloring inspiration.  I also have one black cat, Nala which unfortunately doesn't "fit" in with the rest of the cats (I wish I could find a home where she was the ONLY cat since she doesn't like the other cats, but so far I haven't had any luck.)  Nala is growling at Jasmine as I write this post just because Jazzy happens to be walking by her.  The cats rule at our house.

Yum

Torico came out with some new beautiful winter designs which I just had to have.  I am working this weekend, but I had to sneak this card in just because I adore these new images.  I originally wanted to use a There She Goes image, but I just didn't have time to sit down and stamp one out.  That is why I like digital images since I find I am on the computer and it is easy to print them out and then I don't have to clean up afterwards.  Then I can just start on my coloring.  I added some icicle stickles to the snowman and some liquid pearls to the frosting to give a little extra dimension.  Now I will go to catch up on some sleep before my next shift.

Keep Swimming

Some more stamps and papers came out to support Katie in her fight against stage IV stomach cancer.  See panel on my side bar for more information.  Unfortunately, with my husband having cancer and being in the hospital recently, I know it takes a toll on the entire family.  I wish her, and her family the best and send my thoughts and prayers her way.  I made the following card using one of the new stamps and papers.
