Advice from the cat

I got this wonderful image at "From the Heart" and it is the stamp for this months progressive challenge also.  I thought it was perfect for the sentiment that was available at TLC.  For this card I used the sketch for this week and I made my own yarn balls using a piece of cardstock and wrapping it with twine.  I distressed the outside edge of the paper with my scissors.  We have 3 Siamese cats and they were rather active today.  I picked up some flowers at the Farmers Market and our male cat Casio loves to chew on flowers so I usually have to hide them.

North Pole

We have been having hot humid weather this past week.  I feel bad for my daughter who has been in the dorm with no air conditioning.  One evening she had not been drinking enough and got a migraine headache and was vomiting, and I was worried about her dehydrating with the heat.  Luckily the other staff was wonderful and helped her through the night.  She has a great group of friends and they work well together.  For my card, I was trying to think of the cold snow that is to come in a few short months for Christmas and this is what I came up with.  I used an image from Bugaboo and have him sitting on a sentiment from TLC.  I wrapped Divine Twine around the card adding a small jingle bell.

Love is

I have a wedding card that I made for my cousin that is in a couple of weeks.  The wedding is out of state and my husband just isn't up to traveling so we won't be able to attend.  I have a present and this card that I will give to my Mother who is attending.  I was surprised when we received the formal invites that included that they were having a Star Trek reception.  So I thought this image with the Sock Monkey from Bugaboo was appropriate.  The sentiment is from a wonderful set from TLC.

1st Day of School

Later today I will be helping my daughter move into her dorm room as she will be starting back for her training as a RA for the school year.  I just love the new image that Mo came out with last week, and I used that on my card along with a sentiment from TLC.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of my daughter when she had many of her belonging on our front lawn waiting for her Dad to stop by with his truck to pick it up to help her transport, but I wasn't quick enough.

Have a splashing good summer

I was trying to get this card done for Mo's Water Challenge, but just didn't get it in time.  Luckily, I just love this image since it reminds me of my son playing with the summer toys.  It also reminds me of my brother, since every year the only vacation our family would take would be to go to the Wisconsin Dells water parks.  The funny thing is that we don't live too far from there now, and I really avoid going there since I have been there so many times.  I have even talked my parents into taking my kids when they have wanted to go.  I went with my best friend and her daughter to look at wedding stuff the other day and we drove by the Dells and she said something and I sounded like a travel agent explaining the area.  I just wish I could fit into the same bikinis I wore back then, hehe.

This is the last week of my daughter being home from college.  She has boxes and bags scattered all over the living room as she is gathering her things to go back to school.  Since she is a RA she goes back on Sunday for two weeks of training.  It is always an adjustment to having her home, but I will miss her.  Since I send her a card a week, I have started my stash.  Here is one that I made.
