Chickadee for Aunt Toni

My Aunt Toni has always been a sweet person.  She would take four of us to her house for a week when she doesn't have any kids of her own - which is a big undertaking.  I remembering being homesick and she was so nice about it.  My uncle Jay and her have a gorgeous island off Minnesota where my family spent time last year.  My son enjoyed the fishing and my daughter enjoyed lying in the sun as well as going for a boat ride.  Aunt Toni would send my kids books for their birthdays and Christmas as well as jelly-bellies...and she continues to spoil them with some cash and jelly-bellies.  She has a "thing" for chickadees so I made this card that I plan to send for her birthday in February.  I just purchased this stamp specific to make this card since she has treated us all so special, I wanted to return the favor.

First for 2012

It just seems like the other day when we were worried about converting over to 2000 and now it is already 2012.  Unfortunately the Badgers lost at the Rose Bowl yesterday which was a BIG event here in Wisconsin.  However, I was told by a co-worker that it is the year of the dragon so that is a good thing.  It will be interesting what the year bestows.  I don't have a crystal ball.

Mo's fave

The challenge this week at Mo's is to enter your favorite 2011 favorite image.  I have entered many of the challenges so it is hard to choose.  However, the one that I did narrow it down to is Michael the angel.  I used it to make a baby boy card.  I included several of my favorites for the year in this post.

Winter driving

Several of the challenges are to make winter cards, and we had about an inch of snow for Christmas this year which is already gone.  For Wisconsin, we have been having a very mild winter; however we had some slippery roads with some freezing temps and light drizzle.  This morning my daughter went to go to the gym to work out before she had a doctor appointment and she was surprised when she did a 180.  Luckily, there weren't many cars on the road since she was out around 6am and she didn't hit anything or do any damage.  I met my parents mid-way to get my son and they saw a semi that had slip off the road and flipped over on the major highway.  Hopefully everyone stays safe with traveling especially when there is "black ice" and unusual weather out there.

One last day

My son is staying with my parents during his winter break so I gave my Mother the sympathy cards for Christmas which she thought was perfect.  I took them back and plan to re-give them to her because I usually add the sentiments to the inside when I send them so that I can customize them; however, she would like the sentiments included which makes sense.  So I am working on that tonight for her and I had a chance to do one more using Jen's sketch for this week.
