Last Valentines

I made these Valentines, but just haven't had a chance to post them.  I have my Aunt Natalie who has her birthday on Valentines Day so I made her this card using the adorable image by Whimsie Doodle.  And the second card is using this months SFYTT sketch and Christy's Tiddly Ink Sliver image for my mother-in-law who adores little dogs and wishes she could have one, but just can't take care of one at her age.  She buys toys for our cats and loves to hear what are critters are up to since she doesn't have any pets.  We are hoping to get her to move closer this upcoming spring/summer so then she can spend more time with our critters (we have four cats).

Cat's Paw Glass

My previous co-worker makes gorgeous jewelry out of stained glass and that is what my husband bought me for Valentine's Day.  Here is the site if you want to check it out  http://www.catspawglass.com  I actually went to go pick it up from her when I ran into one of the nurses leaving the clinic to go get a biopsy at another clinic site.  So I made this weeks Mojo card for her.  And then I decided to make a card for the There She Goes challenge which is to use a negative punch.  I used my Spellbinders heart and scalloped heart and then put a stamp from Birdie Brown on the inside to show through.

Country girl

I just love the Wryn images that Christy has come out with at Tiddly Inks, and I think my favorite is the cowgirl.  The funny thing is that I was raised as a country girl and my daughter is definitely a city girl.  Since she is going to school in the town that I grew up in and then she spends time with my parents she is starting to convert to becoming a country girl and I find it rather funny.  She now owns 3 pairs of cowboy boots and her father is furious.  I think they look cute on her.  It is his mother who took her to see Footloose and that is the reason she had to get a red pair.  Believe there is a lot of worse things she could be spending her money on. So cowboy boots have become a big thing at our house.  That is the reason my daughter wants to go to Texas on spring break because she wants more boots.   Some of this is genetics...I can't even tell you how many pairs of shoes her Grandmother has...my Dad has had to make special racks for them.

Stop and start

It seems like I have been working on this card for quite some time.  I would get a few minutes and start working and then get pulled away to do something else and it kept happening.  Now I had this card done Friday morning, but I didn't have a chance to get on the computer.  Some days never go as planned.  At least it is finished.

You're my hero

I made this Valentine for my son, "You're my Hero".  It does look like him.  He is about 6 feet tall now that he is almost 16 years old, but his inseam isn't that tall since it is 34.  He is long in the torso so his shirts are short which he hates since he was little.  So you wouldn't see him like this Some Odd Super Tobie with his belly showing.  When he was little he loved Batman and had the pajamas with the detachable cape so I thought this would be a perfect card for him.  The other card is for one of my best friends who just had her 50th birthday this weekend and we plan to get together tomorrow evening.  She is a rather sensitive about it so I made it classy rather than funny.

Toolbox

When I went through my divorce many years ago, my -ex didn't leave me any tools.  So I went to Menards and I purchased a red tool box and picked up what I thought I would need for basic tools.  When I got re-married it is interesting that my tools have always been nicely organized in the red tool box and my husband put some in the garage and some in the laundry room and now he just uses my red tool box.  So when Mo came out with the image of the little girl with the red tool box, I just had to get it since this is exactly how I feel with mine.  I made a card that I am planning to give to my daughter as one her weekly college cards.

Not the same

My daughter is adjusting again to college this semester, but she really misses her old room mate.  They have been corresponding back and forth so I made  this card for her.  My daughter will be home this weekend since she will be going with the high school dance team to State to show support.  It is interesting to call her alumni, but I know it is fun yet difficult to sit on the side lines for her.  She has a friend that she has danced with for many years from when they took ballet classes together so it is really nice that she is able to be there for Stephanie.
