Triple Layer Pop Up Card

I work part-time night shift as a nurse at a hospital and my schedule has been were I have had a block of days off and now I will start a stretch of working for three nights have one off and then work another two.  There are good things and bad things to working like that.  I have had multiple days of being able to make lots of cards and get things done around the house, but then when I work it is basically work and sleep.  My family has enjoyed some good home cooked meals of meatloaf and cookies while I have been off, but that is not how it is when I sleep during the day.  This week when I received my Splitcoast newsletter I made two cards using this weeks sketch, but I now just made a card using the weekly tutorial.  I feel so accomplished!  Tiddly Ink is celebrating their 2nd anniversary so they have a challenge this week with an inspirational photo of an umbrella in rainbow colors and then you are to have a 2 on the card.  So this is what I came up with using the Triple Layer Pop Up card.  I used the pop up layers to make grass and then used several  of the Tiddly Ink images of a log with flowers and Wryn's tree with a swing.  I also have one of their rainbow images so I used it as a background and also pieced it onto the umbrella of "Donna".  I used a sentiment from TLC and made it into a sun as well as making a coordinating sun on the front with a "2 U" in the center.  It was actually quite fun putting it all together which took some time.  Here it is.

My son's birthday

On April 22nd my son, Trevor will turn 16.  I can't believe it.  He has his driving test scheduled for the 24th.  This afternoon he has a second interview at Outback Steak House for a job.  So much is happening...my baby is growing up.  I made this card for his birthday using the image from Bugaboo.  I also made a Kenny K card which the challenge is diamonds.  I used this gorgeous paper from TLC that has a diamond pattern in it also as well as a sentiment from TLC.  I made a Mother's Day card which also has the sentiment from TLC and the floral image from Just Inklined.  My fourth card uses an adorable image from Sassy Cheryl that includes the sentiment "You are my sunshine." which I thought would be perfect for one of my weekly cards that I send to my daughter at college.

Today is a high of 43 which is much cooler than it has been, but at least it is sunny.  We have been spoiled with nice weather so we have to back track some.  At least we are not having tornadoes!

Flowers and bunnies

I hope all have a Happy Easter!  We celebrated with our family yesterday since I work tonight and need sleep during the day.  Well we have all the signs of spring outside with the flowers blooming, the trees budding and the grass is nice and green.

My first card uses a Sassy Cheryl image- "That one big flower" for the Sweet Wednesday Sketch.  Since it has a cute little bee I put the sentiment from Whipper Snapper "Bee Happy".  My second card uses a bunny from Bugaboo.

Greysen is turning 2

My nephew had is Golden birthday on Monday and is two years old.  We are going to celebrate later today.  I am so excited I bought him a Thomas the train wooden set, some clothes and.....a 4 pound tub of jelly bellies from Costco.  Hehe I can't wait to see my brother chase him after he has a sugar load and this one will last for a while.  His favorite candy is jelly bellies and this is pay back to my brother for all the mean things he did to me growing up.  This should be fun!
