Too cool
It's hard to believe today was my son's last day of school and summer break is here. There are days that time seems to pass too quickly. It was a gorgeous day today sunny with a slight breeze. For my card, I used a Bugaboo popsicle image and covered it with Crystal effects and Liquid Applique. I had fun with that.

Waiting for the parade
The first digital image that I ever purchased was one from Mo Manning and I just love her images. She takes ordinary events and turns them into priceless images that you just have to get. I knew when I saw the stamp of "Waiting for the parade" that I had a picture of my son back a few years ago with our neighbor watching the Memorial Day Parade. It just brought back a flood of memories for me.

Just a few minutes
This last week has been a whirlwind. We had a friend of my husband's funeral and wake to attend on Monday and Tuesday which was difficult for him since he died of the SAME cancer my husband has. They were college classmates so there were pictures of them together and they were in the UW-Marching Band. It was overwhelming that 2500 people attended the wake and about 1000 for the funeral. My husband knows a lot of people just like this friend because he was a teacher at a local high school for the band program whereas my husband taught music at the local college for 35+ years. My mother-in-law, who is 87, was in a car accident on Tuesday where she was driving and was hospitalized with a leg fracture so my husband went with his sister to visit her on Wednesday since she is about 70 miles away. We went to visit her in the nursing home where she is getting rehab on Saturday. So needless to say, my husband didn't keep up with his fluid intake this week so Sunday night I had to take him to the ER to get fluids again. I feel like all I do is nag him to drink and try to add flavoring to bottled water so he will drink it. I did spend a little time today making these cards because I needed to escape. Hopefully this week will be better.
We have new neighbors across the street so I made the first card using the color for Skipping Stones Challenge. My second card uses the sketch for Sassy Cheryl. And then I thought I better have a sympathy card on hand so I used Chupa's sketch and the CR84FN55 colors for this card.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot
Hot pink that is...that is the Splitcoast Friday Free for all Challenge this week. I made a card using the Mojo Sketch and Guylou's image called "Gabrielle and Ribbon". I colored the ribbon pink for breast cancer, I added a doily which is part of the Guylou's Challenge, and ice stickles on the angel's wings.
My second card is for the Bugaboo Challenge this week which is a color challenge. I used the "flowercan" image in where I was able to color the flowers several shades of pink. I used this week's Stella Sketch. I have been lucky to be sponsored as the Biggest Fan of the month so check out the website.

On the floor
Every now and then it is good to shock and surprise your teen-agers just so they understand what it is all about. Last evening, my cats were being playful and I thought they looked adorable so I got down on the floor and was taking some photos of them. Both of my kids came in the family room and said to me, "Mom, what are you doing on the floor?" like there was something wrong with me. When I explained myself they just gave me a look as if I was crazy and I thought it was wonderful because that is how I many times feel in conversations with each of them.
For my first card I used this weeks Splitcoast Sketch along with the Colour Q challenge colors to make this card. I added Crystal Effects to the water in the bottle to give it a shiny effect. My second card is for the There She Goes Challenge which is a birthday and sketch challenge.
