It continues

It is still in the 90's and humid.  I don't have asthma or any breathing problems, but it does take your breath away going outside in this heat.  I grilled out for dinner last night and it was quite noticeable going in and out, and even the cats wouldn't stay out with me.  They usually enjoy spending evenings in our screened porch, but they ran to come back inside.  Just hope everyone stays safe.
For my cards, I did a Fourth of July card using paper and frame from TLC, Create and the colors for this weeks Colour Q.  In the picture it is hard to tell that the base cardstock is a light gray.  For my next card, I did a pink one for the Tiddly Ink Challenge using Rapunzel and a TLC, Create sentiment.  I chalked the sentiment in pink which is difficult to see and added Stickles to the flowers.  My third card is using the new stamp from Designed to delight in the Play Date Cafe Colors.  My final card is using this weeks new release from A Day for Daisies along with a sentiment from TLC, Create.  I used the sketch and color scheme for Splitcoast.

Godson's birthday

It's my Godson's birthday who is stationed in Afghanistan.  Peter is scheduled to come home in July so I plan to give it to him at that time since it will be difficult to mail it to him since I put a big button on it.  He is in the reserves so I'm anxious to have him back home again.  I worry about all of our troops abroad even more so since my son who is 16 talks about going into the military.  My other card is a fun one that I made using some paper and sentiments from TLC, Create.  Paulette loves to make creations with M & M's which is great because I have an EK Success punch.

Internet down

Yesterday it was 95 in WI with the humidity it was around 100.  Today it is to be warmer with the temp around 99.  It is to be like this for the next week so it will be surprising if we have any grass left.  Last night I was going to go post my card, and the internet was down so I don't know if our electric company is trying to save since I'm sure many people are running their air conditioning units this week.  The news is telling people to go to the malls and libraries for the day.  I don't think the libraries have been this busy all year.  My husband and I are taking a rode trip today with some friends to the WI Dells so that will be exciting for the day.  I'm just hoping my husband will be up for this.  This weather, inspired my card.

Design Team

I am so excited that I have been accepted to be on the TLC, Create Design Team for July - September.  Paulette has such wonderful images and sentiments.  The wonderful thing is that she has so many FREE ones and the ones for purchase are reasonable.  She also has regular clubs where you can get images for a theme e-mailed to you which is really fun.  On July 8th we will be having a Blog Hop so you can meet the new design team members and also receive some wonderful images.  I'm looking forward to fun summer!

Too Many Hours

I have another nursing friend who has taken time off of work to care for her husband with health issues.  He had a massive heart attack a year ago, and he doesn't have enough viable heart tissue to have open heart surgery.  He just had a pacemaker placed the other month and is doing OK, but she is taking time to spend with him now.  We got together for breakfast yesterday after my night shift which was wonderful to compare notes and support each other.  Afterwards I ran some errands....and then it got late.  I work tonight so I stay up on nights before I work so I sleep during the day so now I have been up for over 36 hours.  I am going to post these cards and then go to bed.  I met our new neighbor last night and took them over a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread which is my specialty.  They are an adorable couple with a six year old son.

All of the cards that I made last night have paper of sentiments from TLC, Create.  I subscribed to the July Club and now just enrolled in the August Club so I'm excited to see what images and word art I will receive. I get so excited when I get the emails, it is like a special present to open them up to see what has arrived.  I have tried to organize things into file folders since I am getting so many wonderful items from Paulette.

It's hot

Yesterday it was 93 here in WI with the humidity and the heat index it was like 96 so it was HOT!  Because I work night shift, I sleep during the day, but it was still hot and humid when I went to work for 11 pm.  Today it is still suppose to hit 89 and I hear my neighbor working outside so I hope they hydrate.  My cats like to go out in our screened porch in the morning, but I haven't let them out and they are upset with me.  They are spoiled kitties so they will have to suffer inside today.

For my first card, I used the iced tea saying that I just love from TLC, Create along with the paper.  I used Crystal Effect on the glass and the ice cubes.  My second card I did some paper piecing using the digital image "Adele" from All that Scraps and the inside of the card has a sentiment from TLC, Create.  My final card is this weeks Mojo sketch using the color scheme from the Colour Q.

Brother's birthday

I only have one sibling who is a younger brother.  I saw him this past weekend and gave him his present, but his card was not finished.  Unfortunately, life has been a little crazy lately.  My husband has been having a lot of side effects from the cancer treatment and has needed to go to the emergency room a couple of times so he is now on a couple week break from the cancer treatment to try to re-group.  Now we are starting to notice some reverse side effects.  It is interesting and complicated living with the chronic treatments of cancer.

Husband's birthday

Tomorrow will be my husband's 63rd birthday.  I have had such a difficult time deciding what card to make him since when you have so many stamps it is difficult to choose the right one for the occasion.  I finally decided on one from Cuddly Buddy- Pachela "Fergus Macfluff" a 3D dog with presents.  His son is visiting from South Carolina and will be nice to help him celebrate the day.  Unfortunately, I have to work tonight so I will be coming home when everyone is waking up and ready to start the day and the celebrating, so hopefully I will be able to keep up.
