Birthdays are like boogers

Well when making my cards back some time ago for the 9th Annual Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug I made this one for Day 5 for the Humor Me because it makes me laugh.  Then as it was getting closer, I thought it's not a monster card.  So that's why I made the other one and asked to have this one pulled for a different posting. I guess that didn't happen because when I checked it did get posted so I figured I better just go with it and add it to my site too.  It's just that this one hits too close too home right now since with the packing in my nose...it's harder to breathe unless I sleep sitting up. lol
The image is Frame it - Gertrude - Birthday booger.  I dry embossed the background and then used an olive pearly accents for the "booger" which is included in the corner...I couldn't help it, my sick sense of humor, lol.
Now I put it on my Facebook page and my son commented on it - he has never commented online on one of my cards. He is very critical of my cards in person, but not online.  So I teased him about boogers when he was a kid so this sparked a conversation between my kids and I.  So I had to joke that I would make a disclaimer that NONE of my son's boogers were harmed in the making of his card. haha

Thick ice or thin

I wanted to get a few Christmas cards made since I haven't been keeping up with one a week like I wanted to.  For this card, I used the pre-colored image from Imagine That Digistamp called Toasty Penguins and the sentiment that comes with the set, except I cut off the "Happy Anniversary".  I want to be able to give this to my friend for Christmas.  I added some Stickles and Pearly Accents on the image.

First Friend Best Friend Forever

My Mother's Birthday is in the beginning of May and I made this birthday card for her using a stamp that I got from Unity.  I had several of there stamps from years ago, but when the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop came out and when a fellow blogger and a past DT member that I worked with Cynthia had a Unity posting I saw some of the newer stamps and fell in love with them.  I picked up this set called, First Friend, Best Friend Forever which is not listed on the site and they recently had it as a freebie if you ordered a certain amount of stamps so I'm not sure if it is still available.  I just love the sentiment, which I put on the inside of the card.  My Mom doesn't come on my blog so she won't see it.  I added some white butterflies and pearly accents to the card besides I used Derwent Watercolor pencils instead of Copics.  I put green bling on the card since her birthday is in May and the birthstone is Emerald and to match the leaves.

Here's hoping you forgot your birthday too!

Here is my card using the Sasayaki Progressive Challenge Birthday Elly image.  The sentiment is from TLC.  I attached a candle as an embellishment that is pink and purple.  When I went to the store, I was surprised at how expensive candles are.  I guess since my kids are older that we have been recycling candles so I haven't bought any recently.  Otherwise we have bought desserts or ate at restaurants.
