Here for you

Well I had a strange request from my daughter....to make a card for my ex-father-in-law who is having surgery for my daughter to give to him.  Before my daughter went off to college this year she took a bunch of my cards, addresses and stamps so she could mail/send cards on her own and to give to her friends.  But I didn't think about the fact that she would be giving them to my -ex family members.  I have been divorced from her Father for 12 years and re-married for 11 years and so has he.   Needless to say, we didn't get along and have not done things together until two years ago when my daughter graduated she wanted all of us to go out to eat together and that was the first time we ever did that.  Since then, my -ex and I talk regularly about my son and his school issues.  I have found out that my daughter gave my -ex father-in-law a card and he was so touched by it that he said he wants it put in his casket when he dies.  Now you have to understand he is NOT a sentimental person this is a big deal.  So my daughter came home this weekend and told me that he was having surgery on Monday and asked if I would make a card so I agreed to do so.  She did not want a "Get well" card though.   He does have a motorcycle that he rides with his wife so this is what I came up for him.  I tried to keep it with a sense of humor since my daughter says he is nervous so she can joke with him with this.

  5. I just found your blog when I looked at the other entries on The Sweet Stop challenge today. Great Card! It is humorous! You never know when and how your cards will touch other people's lives. I am a daughter from a divorced family. My mother and father tried to do things together for me to make life better for me. I always appreciate that gesture. I know it was hard for both of them. I think what you are doing here is wonderful!
