Celebrating Red, white and blue

Well it's been a little hectic around my house....if you have following my appliance woes there is more to tell. As it happens I called the store and they told me that they wouldn't give me a time for when they would come since now it was just for the set up and haul away that instead the guys would call me 15 minutes before they came.  So about 4pm I hear the truck show up with no call, and the guys tell me that they make the calls the night before when they are at the store which was about 4:30 when I went to the store to set things up at 5:00 so that is why I didn't receive a time.  It gets more interesting when they hook it up and plug it in, it doesn't turn on so we go downstairs and the circuit breaker is on.  So now, it is Wednesday at 4:30pm before the holiday and I have no electricity going to my dryer so I call my Mother.  My wonderful Dad, who has electrical experience volunteers to drive 110 miles on the Fourth to help me out.  When he comes we realize that the electricity was not turned on to the dryer so at least I have the 220-amp outlet and he is able to work his magic and re-route things so that it was able to work.  Then he offered to trim some bushes and trees since my husband isn't able to do that for me.  I greatly appreciate it since we have a wooded lot and I can't reach many of the limbs.  Then he noticed that a large (20 foot branch) had broken off a dead tree and fallen into the roof of our shed!  Now, I have to wait until Monday when I can call some "tree" guys to see about getting some trees cut and removed that are about 50 feet tall.  The problem is going to be getting the equipment into the back yard to do this.  I don't know what I would do without my parents - they are WONDERFUL!!!  My Mother listens to me and my Dad helps me with the house.
For my card I used an image from Doodle Pantry and I put red stars that I had from a die cut on the inside. For the ribbon, I used some patriotic ribbon from Michaels and put it on top of some white ribbon from Offray.  The sentiment is from TLC. At TLC there is a blog hop that will be on July 21st and I have the badge on the side of my blog - more info to follow.
