With making my own cards, I tend to mail a lot of them to my family and many of my cards require extra postage so I wasn't happy with the increase that went into effect this weekend. I feel I pay my fair share since I go to the post office on a regular basis because of my cards. I also have my daughter and step-kids that I send "care" packages to. For this card I did use a pop dot on the one letter and I have to say that I thought about it before I did it because I knew it require extra postage. So since I was at it I also added a Joilee heart.

Super cute card! I love the way you colored your kitty and the blue circle really highlights the focal image well. I totally agree with you about the postage rate increase! The only way I justify the increase is that my dad's job is paid by the sales of postage stamps, so every time I mail something I think of him. It makes me feel a little better. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and leaving your sweet comment. We crossed paths at Make It Monday.

This is adorable, Lisa! Love the sweet image! I hate when they increase the postage prices! It's already crazy to have to pay extra for square cards, which I make all the time!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - as a cat lover I am enjoying everyone's cards with that image this month. I hear you about postage costs - it's getting ridiculous in Canada too.

Hug in an envelope...what everyone wants! Cute card, Lisa! Something I try when I add popped up or thicker elements is to close the card so the front is on the inside when I place it in the envelope. Unless it's thick, this helps me avoid the hand-cancelled fee. Thanks for sharing your card with us at the Sentimental Sundays Lovey Dovey Challenge.
