Miss You

My son is in the Army Reserves.  Before he left, he told me not to send him cards because he knows that I tend to make cards that have embellishments and he said he would not have room in his trunk to store such items.  He also said he didn't want to be embarrassed by my homemade items.  So I did just that....I have only mailed him letters on standard notebook paper.  I received a letter from him yesterday asking for me to please send him a card since he misses "items of the civilian life".  So I had to quickly whip up a card for my boy.  I didn't want to make anything frilly.  So this is what I came up with.  I used an adorable image from Mo Manning and a wonderful sentiment from TLC

Patterned Paper:  Paper Studio; Paper Best
Cardstock:  Bazzil; Recollections
Stamp:  Mo Manning - Solider Boy
Sentiment:  TLC, Create (see above for direct link)
Spellbinder:  Pearl Effect
Bling:  Paper Studio

Challenges
Sweet Sketch 2 - Sketch 35
Catch the Bug - BINGO (Starts with L (Little solider, player's choice, 2 design papers)
Dream Valley - Ch. 95 Anything Goes
Glitter 'n Sparkle - Ch. 111 Cute

  3. Lisa I love this card and its so perfect for your son, great image and design papers. You really made me LOL when I read your blog. When Liam went away in July he said don't send me any cards down just write letters as the boys will laugh at your cards because knowing you, you'll embellish them with lace just to wined me up......His birthday arrived in August so of course I sent 2 cards down 1 from his brother and the other from my hubby and I. Well it was a different story after that the boys loved my cards and thought I should open up a shop LOL even harder. He had a bad head cold the other week so sent him a Sorry You're Under the Weather card which he and the boys loved. Amazing what they miss when they're away from the comforts of home.
Great card as always Lisa and thanks once again for sharing your talent with us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and good luck.

  4. Wow, Lisa ... way to be ON it! Great card. My soldier said the same thing (didn't want any packages) but he has ALSO changed his tune! I am praying that both our boys come home safely.
