TLC Spring Garden Blog Hop

I was talking with several co-workers yesterday about it being the Spring and planting a garden and one co-worker was saying that she just uses her kitchen utensils to plant the garden since she finds they work the best and that then she always knows where they are.  Not that kind of freaked us out.  Especially being a nurse, the thought that someone would use something from the kitchen, put it in the dirt, and then put it back in the kitchen was a little much for me.  So I now know when we have potlucks who's dish I will be avoiding.  Otherwise, the thought of Spring, and fresh foods was appealing with the Farmer's Markets once again.  My Dad was a large potato farmer for many years and terms like crop rotation, irrigation and the like are very familiar around our family.  I also have a friend who had some corn on his land last year.

Welcome to the Blog Hop for Spring,  It is great to have some new members and members who have returned to our Design Team.  For my card the background paper, seed packet and sentiment are all from TLC.

  4. Lisa Lynne, You can just think she has enough sense to sterilize her tools before putting them back. In the 1800's and early 1900's hunters threw their knives into the soil a few times to cleanse and sterilize them. Maybe the soil is still clean and not so dirty as we think. I love your corn photos and card. I grew up working in a garden and some of it I liked and some I did not. We had corn and popcorn one year. The crows tried to claim it before it was grown very tall. Thank you for the clipart of the corn seed package. Edwina Brown

  9. I never would have thought to use kitchen tools in my garden. Maybe the extra dirt is really a good thing to keep us healthy. Your sentiment is perfect with the seed packet.

  10. Oh this is perfect Lisa. I'm always up for a good pun! Great that you had that paper as well.

Um...I'm with you...using kitchen utensils in areas where animals may have defecated never mind the bugs and such? I'm going to go and gag now...
