In gloomy moods

We all have our days....however, I have a close friend that I think is going through depression.  She is a nurse friend and can not decide if she wants to retire, but was recent let go from her last job and that is not fun for anyone.  She has her Master Degree, but there are not a lot of openings in management right now as I know since I am looking for work as well.  She just turned 60 years old so she is at the age where her health insurance is at the most expensive rate and her husband is retired.  She could afford to retire, but did not plan on it so she would have to make a few adjustments.  I think she should meet with a financial planner and with the health problems that both her and her husband have they should downsize and sell their large expensive home since they have difficulty keeping up with the yard work.  Needless to say, they procrastinate and she is in a funk.  I try getting her to go for a walk and she will only go for a block and complains the whole way.  Yet then she also is concerned about her diabetes that has developed and her weight gain.  I have another close nursing friend that we would like to sit down and talk to her about depression and getting some treatment and our concerns about her health.  So I made this card for her as the ice breaker or appetizer to start the conversation.  The sentiment is from TLC, Create.

  1. Love the sentiment here and so true, if only all would take note of it. Walking is good for mind, body and soul...good cleanser.
Elves? Yep have a team of them who come in once a week and clean my house, no seriously, I am a super organized person and as there is only three of us, [the dog is three] the house never gets dirty. I run the cleaner through each morning for dog hair, dust briskly, have breakfast, shower, go for a walk, then craft if not outdoors or out...
so come on over and we will have an arvo crafting.♥

  8. Lisa Lynn - Nice take on the sketch - It is difficult for people to let go of a home they have lived in for many years - however, right now is the time to decide - IMHO - not when you are in your 80's or 90's - we have moved twice in 2 years - I cannot believe that - however, one home I lived in for 25 years - the second home for 20 years - the first condo for a little over one year [way to expensive] and now our new condo less than 4 months --- and this is surely the place we hope to live for the rest of our lives on earth - I hope your friend will listen to sound counsel - because once you downsize [still getting rid of the accumulation - you are so free] getting a condo or apartment is a great move - and adjustment - yet husband and I are both happy in his hometown - OK I rattled enough - I wish you the best in helping your friend - this too shall pass. Blessings,
