A Halloween Hello

 This year, I just hadn't had the time to sit down to find and make Halloween cards. Then I received this beautiful card from a fellow nurse, Arlene when I was feeling stressed and it just made my day. One day I hope to be a nurse just like her......RETIRED, but that seems so far off, lol. So I thought that I should make a new Halloween card to send her, but oh my where are my distress oxides and even worse my Halloween stamps? So I decided to use an image from Beccy's Place Toil and Trouble and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things BB witch way is the candy.  I found my box that had my twine so I added plenty of that on my tag.

Just Be Gauze

Well I had to do a Halloween one too. I've had this PI Mummy and die cut and thought it was about time that I used it. I also purchased some Glow in the Dark embossing powder from Moxy so I put that on the black paper. It didn't photograph the best. I put cheesecloth that I have also had forever around cardstock to match the mummy.

Lavinia Halloween

Well I just love the Lavinia stamps and I finally made a card with them. I used a pre-made background of their papers which is 6 inches X 6 inches which I thought was perfect for fall colors. Then I used black embossing powder for the images and foam dots for the TLC, Create sentiment that I colored in to match the paper. For the spider web I used a sparkly black embossing powder. And so ta-dah, my first Lavinia card.

Black Cats Prowl

Today at Catch the Bug is Humor Me Wednesday and I made a card using Cute Halloween Set 2 and a sentiment from TLC, Create and this is to celebrate Black Cat Day which is on October 27th.  Now, I only have Siamese cats, but years ago we used to have a solid black cat. Which used to freak me out when I would wake up and she would be standing next to me staring at me. She was soft and beautiful, but could not get along with the Siamese.

This is my second sample card as a Guest Designer for Joy of Sets and for this card I went with a Halloween theme. I used an image from Mo Manning, Hobson with treats and a sentiment from TLC, Create.  I had to add some glittery ribbon and candy corn.  So my row on the board is Glimmer / Candy / Emboss.

Today starts a new Stella Says Sketch Challenge at Catch the Bug.  For my card, I used the image and sentiment of Stella Swiffer.  I love the sarcastic humor of Stella.  I added Glossy Accents to her glasses and the stars....and when I went to take my picture this is the first time I had this happen, but it was not quite dry and I smeared them when the card flopped when I was taking a photo.  ARGH!  Now I can imagine what Stella would say.

I actually made another CAS Halloween card using a Bugaboo image.  I added some beady eyes to the ghosts and colored the image.  I put Molotow masking liquid on the dot stars and then used a Sakura jelly glitter pen to color them in.

Booyah!

I actually made a one layer card!!! Wow it is hard for me to make a CAS card yet a one layer so I really had to push myself for this one, hehe.  Catch the Bug has a recipe challenge so I forced myself (1 layer, 1 word sentiment, 1 embellishment) so this is what I came up.  The sentiment is from TLC, Create.  For the background I cut some slits in the black paper and distressed them to look like openings and distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool.  For the embellishment, I put googly eyes on the bat.

I have to admit that one of my favorite things is to blend Distress Oxide Inks and make my own background paper.  I actually found my heat gun that my Dad had packed away for me when he was cleaning my basement and it was like Christmas opening a present (since I had replaced it) so now I have one upstairs in my craft area and one downstairs.  So I do my ink blending upstairs and my embossing downstairs so it works out well.  For this card, I just had FUN!!!
