Now I grew up loving nature, except I have a few issues with birds. First of all when I was three I was attacked by a rooster and my Grandma had to chase him with a broom to get him off of me. So I have a natural "jump" when birds fly near by (which can even be several feet). When I first was taking piano lessons, I had to wait for my parents to move the piano into the house when it was being built so it was stored in the attic of a barn so when I went to practice the barn swallows would dive at me. Now I live in a wooded lot which is wonderful at times, but has it drawbacks. We have cedar siding and the red headed woodpeckers believe our house .... well let's just say it is a large birdhouse. My husband and I have talked about getting vinyl siding, but since he has cancer some of the home repairs and maintenance have taken second place. My Dad has tried to help by putting some roof shingles to cover up the holes so we have an unique repair job at this time. So when Paulette had this as one of her images in the promo for this week I just had to make a card and the sentiment should say "Free to live in my house". LOL

ReplyDeleteGreat card Lisa Lynn. Fabulous background paper and sentiment. I love the new images. As Jane mentioned, you're not alone on your fear of birds. A friend of mine had an encounter with a chicken when she was young with the same results. hugs, Pat K x
ReplyDeletelovely bird on your card and love the background paper too...and yummy Lace on your card...beautifully done Lisa Lynn..
ReplyDeleteI am joining again the MIM and my card is number 73..if you could pop up to my Blog and leave me some love, I would be so glad...big hugs, Monika
Gorgeous card, Lisa Lynn! Great design with the promo image! I have a woodpecker that looks just like that visiting my bird feeder. I hope he's not pecking away at my house when he visits!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, how sad and how funny about your bird issues. Did Hitchcock's movie "The Birds" freak you out, or did you avoid watching it? It kind of creeped me out, and I love birds! :^)
ReplyDeleteReally nice take on the sketch with the bird! :^)
Hugs, Penny
Beautiful design Lisa. Love the design paper. Hope your problem gets sorted soon with the birdies. But are still blessed to have such prolific birdlife.

Thanks for your visit from MIM. I'm returning your visit and discovered all those lovely bird cards! I was quite surprised them to read about your history with birds... Apart from the beautiful bird I like the combination of patterned papers. Nice work!
