Cake makes everything better

My daughter doesn't handle change well, so moving and graduating is a lot for her to handle.  So I picked up some groceries to send to her - cake mixes and fun frosting included.  So I thought this would be the perfect card for her.  The sentiment is from TLC.  The image is a pre-colored one from the Paper Shelter.  I made this an easel card, since that is her favorite layout.

I am mooving

My daughter graduated last week so this weekend she moved.  I am on-call so I wasn't able to help her move.  I feel horrible; however, my Dad and son were able to be there and they are bruit force and were much more helpful I'm sure.  I did talk to her multiple times so I was still supportive which I think she needed since she has difficulty with change.  I made this card for her to give to someone to inform them of her new address.  I made the boxes by crimping paper and putting hemp around it.  This set from Imagine That is On the MOOve.

I have a long time friend that had his Mother pass away so this is the card that I made for him.  We started out being friends in college, was in my wedding party and then he ended being my daughter's adviser in her Education program.  I felt happy to know that there was someone on campus to keep an eye on her.  It's great to know that some of the friends that we make and even though we don't stay in touch on a regular basis, are always there.  This sentiment is one of from one of most used set from TLC so it is a great investment.

Go Army

My son is in the Army Reserves and is trying his hardest to go ACTIVE duty.  I know we need people to serve, but my heart does go out to all those who do and their families.  And the way that things are these days that includes those who are in public service such as police, fire, coast guard and the such.  This world has gotten crazier.  Even though I worry about safety for all, I do know that it would be best for my son because that is the lifestyle that would make him happy at this point in his life.  As a nurse, I work with a lot of vets so that does concern me too because I know things that he doesn't, but he has to experience it for himself.  As a parent the hardest thing is to let go.  Paulette at TLC has this perfect sentiment and Kris at Imagine That came out with Soldier Sam.  I made this a side step card.  Remember that May 21 is Armed Forces Day.

Ruff day?

I have to cover for a nurse who is out for her daughter's graduation so I feel like it is a rough week instead of a rough day, hehe.  I am feeling sorry for myself since I have a heavy work schedule and have a lot going on at home with new flooring coming this week and having to go for an award night for my own daughter.  It will all get done - I will just need to wear my cape and fly....
