Ladybug

All that Scraps has this stamp with Nora as a ladybug which I think is just adorable.  I added some glitter from the Sakura jelly roller pen to her wings.  Since it is summer, I thought this would make a perfect card.  I added a pinwheel for something a little different.

Mark's Birthday

Tomorrow is my brother's 40th birthday.  He is my only brother, actually my only sibling.  We are VERY different, but that is what makes life so interesting.  My kids are teen-agers while he has a 14 month old son.  This is a picture of him last week with his son.  His son received a hat from Grandma and Grandpa and he is laughing about wearing it.  Now you will understand why I made the card that I did for my brother.  His son is adorable, and is 110% daddy's boy.

Jeff's birthday

On Tuesday it was my husband's 62nd birthday!  I have been so busy with my new job and getting ready for my daughter's graduation party that I haven't had time to do as many cards as I usually do.  My husband has several telescopes and finally was out observing the other night after not going for about 9 months.  Hopefully he will post something on his blog soon from that evening.  He goes to a friend's home in Illinois that has two observatories on his property and two German Shepherds that spend the evening with him so this image was so appropriate.  Cassiopeia is my favorite constellation and was in this image so again another reason it was perfect for him.

We have had temps of high 80s and 90s for the past few days, but today is suppose to be a high of 68. WOW, what a difference.  Only two days of school left for the kids with their finals going on.  Tomorrow is the big graduation day.  Well here is my attempt to have some bright colors for our cool, gloomy day.

Meowy Christmas

It is hard to believe we are already into June and the year is almost half done.  This is my second Christmas card that I have done for the year.  We have four furry kritters at our house with three of them being Siamese so you can tell where I get my inspiration for this card.  Casio our male cat, is a blue point who can be just as daring as Josie from the  Stamping Bazaar.  http://thestampingbazaar.blogspot.com/.  I just love the images from Marina who has a way of bringing out the cute animals.  For my card I used glimmer mist spray on the pine cones to give them an extra shine.  I used the Tim Holtz dies on the sides of the steps which actual look like little Christmas trees.

True Friend

My daughter is sad about her last few days of high school and I can understand.  I told her that she may have some friends that she may not see again after graduation.  Hard as it is to imagine at that age.  I remember that there were friends that I expected to see when I came home from college, but it never worked out to see them.  Others went there different direction.  Yet some who had unfortunate occurrences/accidents and I never thought death was an option a year or two after graduation.  I have some very wonderful close friends now which I truly appreciate.  That is where this card comes from.

Costco

It is no wonder that I worked on this stamp since it involves a strawberry.  My daughter has been eating lots of strawberries from Costco so that I am going there weekly for her large container.  Their fruit is so delicious!  Well fruit is just good anyway, and I would much rather have her snack on that than chips so I'm not complaining except that it is across town.  We all make sacrifices for our kids and I don't have a berry garden so ......off to Costco we will go to buy in bulk.

Bright colors

It just happened that both of the cards that I made today had similar colors and were bright.  They were fun stamps and fun cards.  The first one being a sketch challenge for Mo's Challenge using one of my favorite images - Angelina's balloons.  I think Mo is so well known for this wonderful image which always brings a smile to my face.  The TLC sentiment I thought was a perfect match with a little sarcasm.
The second card for the Tiddly Ink Challenge of Diva card so again the TLC was a good one.  It happened that Sweet Wednesday Sketch is sponsored by Tiddly Ink this week.  I used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown which I thought would be bright to go with this diva image.

Kenny K has this vintage Super Mom image which I think is adorable.  Being a Mom, there are many times we feel as the image portrays, "Bring it on."  This week Kenny K has a challenge with flowers and I found these Prima's which I thought were a perfect match for this vintage look.
