Official

The kids start school today.  My daughter moved back to campus on Sunday and both of them will start classes with my daughter being a Sophomore in  college and my son a Junior in High School.  I have to start my weekly sending of cards to my daughter.  I actually made one for my son, but you will see that one later since I will be a guest on the Guylou Challenge later in the week.
Today I did a fall card using one of the newer images and sentiments from TLC, Create.  It comes with three different colored leaves.

last day

I can't believe it is the last day of August.  There are days when the world seems to go too fast.  I work tonight and it is a full moon, and I'm already feeling the effects...its been crazy so far so I better get some sleep.
My first card is for Mo's Challenge and I used the new image of "Odette".  My daughter danced for many years so it brings back many memories and I used it with Bearly Mine papers and added some Stickles for a glittery effect on the tutu and several flowers.
My second card uses this weeks Splitcoast color scheme along with the Merry Monday sketch.
Then for my third card I used a Bugaboo image and a sentiment from TLC, Create to make a Back to School card.  The paper is also from TLC, Create.
Lastly, I have so many stamps so I used this duck one from Inkadoo for this weeks Colour Q design which worked well with the new My Minds' Eye paper - Meadow.

The Zoo

I feel that my life is like many of the animals that live at the zoo, so it is no surprise that I find comfort in visiting the local zoo.  We are fortunate to have one near by and it cost $4 to rent a wheelchair so I can push my husband around.  Since I am pushing him, he is able to get many more photographs; however, I just find it relaxing to be outside enjoying the day.

For my cards I made one for my Aunt and Uncle who recently just lost their dog.  Paulette has a special sentiment which can be found at TLC, Create that I think is just perfect for putting into words losing a special family member.  Then I made I card for a co-worker using this week's Mojo sketch and another TLC, Create sentiment of Congratulations.  My last card is a card using an image from A Day for Daisies and the sentiment is from a great set from TLC, Create.

American hero

It's been a busy week with work and then I had to take my son who is 16 for orientation at the University.  He is taking a class through "Youth Option" in which he will attend UW-Madison.  Now I have to worry about him getting from his high school down town which is not the easiest thing and finding parking to get to class.  We spent some time together and we talked about his future goals.  I still worry about him since he talks about military at times and to me he looks just likes Mo's image on my card this week.  I distressed the edges of the paper and then inked the oval with the image.  The sentiment is perfect which is from TLC, Create.

My second card is for my Uncle who loves to tell stories.  Paulette has the perfect paper fish papers along with the sentiment at TLC, Create.  This will be a perfect card for him.

Penny for Your Thoughts

Well, I couldn't help myself....Paulette came out with some new images yesterday at TLC and I just had to purchase them.  I just love sunflowers so I worked on that one first.  I used the Inde Bloom paper and then I have this May Arts ribbon that I found at a local floral shop that had it in several different colors so I have it in the kraft with mint green.  I just love this image and saying and it can be found at TLC, Create.
Now, this morning it was interesting, I had this set of stamps to work with and I looked at the new Mojo sketch and then it came to me...and I went to work.  The paper is from Sweet Shoppe except for the flower which is from Pebbles.  I used the sentiment from Paulette's set Simply Put Thoughts which has four great sentiments.  When I looked at this one, I decided that with the paper I chose it would be perfect to actually dig into my wallet and find a shiny penny to place in the center of my flower.  My husband laughed when he saw my card, and said his thoughts were worth more (I won't tell you my response.)

Just saying hello

Well, I found out ANOTHER cousin is pregnant so I made another card using the Wryn eggspecting image and sentiment from Tiddly Inks.  This is for my cousin, Heather who I babysat who is now a podiatrist in MN.  It is her sister who just had the baby the other week which they planned to have their children be close together in age so that they would be playmates.
My second card, I made using a tag from TLC, Create which I have been waiting to use.  I made it for this weeks Splitcoast Color Challenge and Chupa's Sketch.  I added a sentiment from TLC, Create.  The blue paper with pearls is from TLC, Create and the chicken wire I stamped using a large stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.
