Yesterday I went and got my daughter settled back at college.  She had to be there early for training since she is going to be a CA for floor at the dorm this semester.  It will be a busy semester for her, but she is an organized person so I'm sure she will do just fine.  I just miss her already since she went back early, and I feel like she won't be coming home as often.  My cousins have had their babies so I made the cards to welcome the new little ones and have some gifts to mail out.  I just love Mo's images so that is what I used for these cards since I had to make one boy and one girl.

For the Birds Blog Hop

It's finally here the TLC, Create Blog Hop and you should have arrived from Carla's blog.  If this is your first stop then to start, go to Cynthia's blog so that you don't miss any of the wonderful freebies.  The images are all wonderful and are "For the Birds" in honor of National Bird Day.  Paulette from TLC, Create has donated all of these wonderful images that we will have along the way so make sure to go back TLC, Create to thank her for them.  She has a wonderful web site that has at least one if not several free images or sentiments per day besides lots of reasonable images available for purchase for every occasion.  She also has clubs where you receive emails of images and sentiments for a particular theme.  For example, the St. Patrick's Day Digi club will be from January 26 - 30 and Paulette will be sending out word art, vintage papers, colored clipart, collages...of St. Patrick's Day.  When I receive the emails it is like receiving a present.  If you are interested in the St. Patrick's Day Club check it out here, and believe me the price is worth the amount of images and sentiments that you receive!
My husband and I love to do wildlife photography.  On our vacations we try to find some time to do some with our favorite spot being the Everglades which has incredible birds to see and photograph.  We have a local zoo that is free to the public so that is a place that I like to visit during the summer. This zoo has a black swan, which I used the photograph as inspiration for one of my cards which is native to Australia and New Zealand.  I had to do some research in order to get the coloring for my swans in the rest of my cards.

Cards for co-workers

Only a few hours until the blog hop, but I thought I would post a couple of cards that I made today for my co-workers.  We are busy at work since we have been hit hard with the influenza outbreak the entire hospital is full.  The other day, I had an admission arrive from the Emergency Room before the room was even cleaned from the previous patient leaving.  Then we have a staff shortage with staff getting ill, but we also have several nurses out on maternity leave.  One of the cards that I made is for a nurse that had twin boys.  We had another nurse also have twin boys, and another with a set of girls so what are the chances of that without medication?  Then we had another tragedy in that one of Nursing Assistants had her brother killed in a car accident.  Her brother and his finance were about to drive home from a New Years' party when the car started on fire and both of the 21 year olds lost their lives.

New hair cut

My daughter has ALWAYS wanted and had long hair...and still does.  She inherited from both her parents fine hair also.  So unfortunately, it has a tendency to break off and she has been getting it colored on the bottom.  Our hair dresser has been after her to get it cut some to help the damaged ends, but she has been reluctant to do so.  Last night she did it!!!  It is still long; however, to her it is devastating.  I think it looks adorable and much healthier.  Now there is one more problem, my 16 year old son was in a "mood" yesterday to get on my last nerve if it was the last thing he did.  So when I went downstairs for a minute, he stole my phone after my daughter sent me a text with a picture of her haircut because she was spending the night at her Dad's and my son sent a reply on my behalf saying that I didn't like it.  After he irritated her, he told me about it and then he spent the rest of night apologizing to his sister for hurting her feelings when she found out what happened.  Teen-aged boys???? It took him a little bit to realize that he was wanting to upset me when instead he hurt his sister.  Since she is sensitive, I don't think she will let me post a picture of her new look at this point, but I did take some recent photos of her the other day.
For my card I used Mo's image which is perfect with a little girl cutting her own hair which I think most kids ending doing.  The sentiment is from TLC, Create.

Hip Hop Hurray!

I can't believe it's 2013!  I'm still trying to get caught up.  My step-son was visiting for a week and now with my daughter being home for college, life is just more complicated.  I'm not used to planning for several days of meal planning anymore since my husband and I would just go with the flow.  This weekend my daughter had a guest come to visit from college...which was a boy for the weekend.  She asked for a card for his upcoming birthday since I didn't have any masculine cards in my stash.  He (Zach) is a nice young man from my first impression who enjoys golf so this is what I came up with for her to give him.
