Sing it Frame

For a Christmas gift, I make my Mother sympathy cards which sounds really sad, but she goes to at least one funeral a month on average.  She lives in a small community where she knows a lot of people and I hate to say it, but the people in the neighborhood are aging.  At TLC, Create, Paulette has a beautiful frame that I also added one of her sentiments and then colored it.  It can be found here  SING IT FRAME.  I thought it worked perfectly with this weeks Mojo sketch where I made it into an easel card and stitched around the outside.  I added a die cut musical note and some flowers also some liquid pearls on the edge of the scallops.

Stay tuned

Since my birthday was on Wednesday and I worked, one of my best friends took my husband and I out to lunch along with her husband on Friday and she gave me some beautiful pink roses.  On Saturday, my Mother-in-law was released from the nursing home so we went to help her get set up in her home again.  And then on Sunday, my parents came.  My Father helped with some projects around the house which was great and he is a real handy man and has LOTs of tools.

I made a card for the July SFYTT using Torico's TV image.  And my second card, is using Mo's image "Eli" which has a dog in the cardboard box with him since the challenge is having a dog in the image.

Seas the moment

It just seems like my day yesterday was on a beach/water theme.  We went on a Carnival Cruise during spring break and they sent me an e-mail birthday card from Carnival so it reminded me of the cruise and the ocean.  My family decided to take me out to Red Lobster for dinner.  My son just loves the rolls.  My daughter was sweet and picked up my favorite - a carrot cake, but we were all to stuffed to eat any last night.  Unfortunately, I had to work and just before I left we had a bad storm of lightening and thunder with rain pouring down.  When I pulled out of our neighborhood, I noticed that the neighbor's tree had bark in the street and there were branches all over.  When I got closer to the hospital, there were many trees and branches down.  Apparently, one house even started on fire from the lightening.  Luckily it was short lived.  What a way to end my birthday. So my first card has WATER.  The sentiment is from TLC, Create and I distressed it in Tim Holtz ink and spritzed it with water to give a more worn look.
My second card is using new paper and image from TLC, Create with the coffee theme. I inked the outside of the label 21 with Memento black ink, and I put Ice Stickles on the flowers.

Cody is 21

When my kids were young my Mother worked part-time for a few years and would take my children for several days.  She would many times plan excursions with a neighbor friend who had children around the same age.  Now that my daughter is going to college in that town, she has become friends again with the neighbor boy Cody.  We have always exchanged birthday cards throughout the years, but it is interesting that the kids have reconnected.  My daughter likes that she has friends locally to do things with especially if she stays there for the weekend.  Cody turns 21 so I made this card for him with a deer since he likes outdoor sports and hunting.  I used my Tim Holtz inks and spritzed some water on the TLC sentiment to give it a more rugged look.
My other card is using this weeks Mojo sketch and another TLC sentiment.  I cut out four ribbon banner spellbinder dies and put them behind the circle.  I also used a Zva pearls sticker.

11th Anniversary

Today is my husband and my 11th wedding anniversary.  We won't be doing much celebrating today since he has a doctor appointment this afternoon and I have to work tonight so I will be sleeping during the day.  Then on Wednesday, it will be my birthday, which again I work that evening.  We will plan to celebrate with my children on the weekend when I am off.  My husband actually went out shopping the other day for cards when I was sleeping which surprised me.  Paulette made some wonderful customized images in her last club in which she personalized some anniversary images which was perfect.  I used this weeks colors for the JUGS scheme since brown is one of my husband's favorites.
My other card, I made for one of my aunts that just turned 50th.  I colored the image from A Day with Daisies with Copics and put Glossy Accent on the bottles.  For the "fifty" paper I made that by compiling different computer fonts.

Sealed with a kiss

I just love Mo's images and this weeks challenge is Hugs and Kisses, and I couldn't pass up this wonderful image of "Kisses" and I included a TLC, Create sentiment.  I stitched around the card and added a couple of flowers.  My next card  is for Sassy Cheryl in which the challenge is fancy borders so I actually used one of my Martha Stewart around the page punches and I also used a Fiskars border punch.  My finally card is for one of my cousins and his wife who are expecting, so I made the card for Tiddly Ink sketch challenge.

Windows replaced

At least the rain held off yesterday that we were able to get three large windows replaced.  The gentlemen were wonderful, but I wasn't able to sleep since it was rather noisy.  I tried so I kept the cats locked up in the bedroom with me for  awhile and they were going wild with all the noise...they are not accustomed to having people over during the day since half the time my husband sleeps during the day too.

For my cards, I used a Jenni Bowlin stamp and put additional die cut stars along with Ice stickles and a cute TLC, Create sentiment.  I cut the stars in this weeks Color Throwdown scheme and edged the paper with a Martha Stewart punch.  My next card used Torico's refreshing ice cream image that can be found at Birdie Brown which I colored with Copics and then edged the image with Versa Magic Pixie Dust.  My last card, I used TLC, Create image and sentiment and printed the images on Sweet Shoppe digital paper.

Doggy door

We are FINALLY getting some rain in Wisconsin.  We just had a big crash of thunder and lightening and it is pouring rain right now.  My cat that was at my feet went running and my daughter that was sleeping just woke up.  She is trying to tell me that she jumped at least several feet out of bed, and she is shocked that we didn't lose power.  Tonight I made a couple of cards, the first one for my nephew who unfortunately lost his dog who was his "baby".  He is recently married and they had this bulldog, Eleanor so they are going through some devastating times.  Paulette has this image and beautiful sentiment that will hopefully help them through the rough time.  My second card is for my sister - in- law and brother - in - law for their 42nd anniversary.

Seahorse

One thing that I am fond of...is seahorses.  I find them very unique.  I have several jewelry pieces that have them and when Paulette had this image through TLC, Create I knew that I had to make a card out of it.  She also had this gorgeous shell paper through her club which I just loved.  I make a pack of sympathy cards for my Mother for each Christmas since unfortunately, she does go to quite a few funerals.  Paulette has a set of sympathy sentiments which are very elegant which I used on my second card along with a Cherry Lynn butterfly.  My third card is a precious image from Mo's called "Maisie caroling" which I used for this weeks challenge which is "Dancing and Singing".  I used Paulette's sentiments from TLC, Create "Believe in the Reason" which I thought was perfect for the image.  The snowflake is another Cherry Lynn die cut and I covered the flowers and image in Ice Stickles.
