Merry Christmas Neigh-bor

Kris at Imagine That! came out with some wonderful Christmas and winter holiday images.  One being this wonderful horse image.  I grew up in the country with my Father being a farmer, and I always wanted a horse, but my Dad always said "No".  For some reason, I am always drawn to horses, maybe I had them in a previous life.  For this card I used the sentiment on the inside of the card.  I distressed the paper to give it a more rough and western look.

oops I was looking at the paper upside down

Happy Retirement

A friend of my husband's is going to be retiring with the end of this semester at the college where they worked together.  They also did musicals until 2008.  I can understand that Patrick who has now taken a job in administration wants to spend time with his family and Grandson.  He has been so dedicated and I know that the college will miss him.  I made this card for him and the sentiment on the inside is from TLC.

My house is not messy

I just love this sentiment which is from TLC.  My house is a horrible mess right now.  I have been going through my husband's stuff since he passed away in February and having been putting things in boxes.  I have people who say that they want to come look at stuff before I just donate it, but then they don't come over like they say.  So my family room is full of rubbermaid bins with clothes and other stuff.  My living room is still cluttered since I rearranged the house to put a hospital bed in the family room and I want to replace the carpeting before I move everything back.  I'm just getting frustrated with the mess.  And sometimes when you clean, you make a bigger mess before you make progress so that is where I feel I'm at.

Joy to the World

This month at Imagine That there is adorable image of the month.  I used the pre-colored version and added some snowball bling.  Also, this month you can make a card using ANY image and win $10 coupon to the store.  So there are two challenges going for the month of December!  For my card I used a sentiment from a great set at TLC.    For this card I made a tri-shutter card which was a lot of fun.  It was a little extra cutting, but really simple.  The instructions are on Splitcoast Stampers.  I just couldn't help adding some bling and embellishments.

Miss You

My son is in the Army Reserves.  Before he left, he told me not to send him cards because he knows that I tend to make cards that have embellishments and he said he would not have room in his trunk to store such items.  He also said he didn't want to be embarrassed by my homemade items.  So I did just that....I have only mailed him letters on standard notebook paper.  I received a letter from him yesterday asking for me to please send him a card since he misses "items of the civilian life".  So I had to quickly whip up a card for my boy.  I didn't want to make anything frilly.  So this is what I came up with.  I used an adorable image from Mo Manning and a wonderful sentiment from TLC

Patterned Paper:  Paper Studio; Paper Best
