Tie your dreams

I made this card for the Mo Manning Challenge for K is for "kite".  I made a kite using the die cut from My Favorite Things and added some Stickles glitter.  I also used the cloud dies and added some ink around the edges.  The sentiment is from a set at TLC.  Also in honor of Sunday Sketch and Stamp 200th Sketch I used Sketch 195.

I decided to make this masculine card for Meljens and then I just love this sentiment from TLC.  For this card I also did some stitching and I embossed a flourish on the orange cardstock and rubbed black ink on it.  I never seem to have enough masculine birthday cards on hand so here is one to add to my stash.

Warmest Thoughts Especially For You

This week I had a chance to play with the Mojo sketch.  I used one of this weeks freebies from TLC for the sentiment.  I have had my cats following me around.  I had one at my feet while I was typing my post.  One sitting where I threw some grocery bags on a  chair to do some packing of items and one next to my chair talking.  I took some pictures of them, but they are lonely without my husband and visitors in the house.

Ding Dong Spring Calling

This is the hope, that spring is finally calling, it is to be 44 today and expected to get to be around 59 on Sunday, yahoo!  Hopefully all the white stuff will be GONE!!!  It has been raining so it has been muddy so I'm just glad that I don't have a dog that I have to wipe paws.    I finally made my progressive card for From the Heart, just in time I know.  The twist of the sketch was to be interactive so I put a pipecleaner on the back of the sentiment so it is able to move and wiggle.

Easter Celebration

I haven't been around on the blogs much, and I'm sorry that I haven't been out making comments; it's been hard keeping up with everything the past few weeks.  With my husband passing away there has been a lot of phone calls and paperwork to get done.  I haven't begun to go through his things yet, I'm just trying to write thank you notes and get the basics done.  I have continued to work, which being a hospice nurse has been difficult since we have had quite a few deaths and there have been long nights.  This past weekend I did Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I thought I was going to pass out after that stretch.  It has taken me all week to recover.  There have been some good things, my kids have been wonderful and so have my step-kids we check on each other on a regular basis so we have grown closer.  We have miles between us, but we find ways to stay in touch.  I'm proud of the kids and how they are checking on each other also.  I just never thought it would hit me as hard as it did.  Being that I work with this all the time, I thought I would be alright with it and know that my husband was now in a "better place" and no longer suffering with pain.  I  overlooked my loss with the situation or at least thought it would be less.....which makes it frustrate me even more.  I don't like feeling like a wounded puppy, and I don't like loss of control.  My husband taught for over 36 years and here I get to learn more lessons from his death.

The Magic of Christmas

Well as it happens we are getting a few flurries of snow as we speak....even though it is spring. It is to warm up the next few days so it isn't anything that is to last, but it is getting old to see the white stuff at the end of March.  Digi stamp 4 Joy has a Christmas progressive Challenge and this month the stamp was a grouping of sentiments.  What I did was to put the sentiments over a digital background paper from TLC, and then added some Ice Stickles to the snowflakes.

Welcome April

Paulette had this image yesterday in her latest club, and I just had to make a card with it.  If she posts the image as a seperate image at TLC, I will post it at that time.  I thought it went perfectly with the Prima nest.  I kept the card simple for spring.

HB from the cat

I have three cats, and they love to dig into plants!  That is why I don't keep flowers out.  It is sad that when I have received special flowers we have locked them in the bathroom.  Otherwise, the vase is tipped and the leaves are chewed.  For a progressive challenge at Imagine That, this precious kitty was this month's image.  I used a sentiment and the patterned paper is from TLC.  I also added some Flower Soft to the top of the kitty head to look like dirt.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those of you who celebrate!  I'm far from Irish, but I did have to make a green card for all the challenges that are out there.  This image from Inky Impressions is just too cute and I added some rhinestones for her earrings.  The green patterned paper is from TLC.  It is from one of the past clubs; however, there is another club just starting.  Check here for more details.

Happy Easter to Everybunny

I can't believe how fast time is going.  My daughter will be coming home tomorrow night for the start of her spring break.  We are still having temps in the 20's so it doesn't feel like spring.  I'm just trying to keep up with working and everything else that I have to do right now.  For my card. I used an image from Doodle Garden and an adorable sentiment from TLC.

Cute tail

Hard to believe that Easter is around the corner.  I just love this sentiment from TLC which I think is a little sassy.  I found a piece of fake fur and used a die cut to cut out a piece to add to my card.  The bunny paper is also from TLC.

Have a Purr-fectly delightful day

I'm so tired of the snow and cold.  Yesterday we got another 1-2 inches and today we are to get another 1-2 inches.  For my husband's funeral on Monday, a gentleman fell in the snow when we had to go to the cemetery which luckily he wasn't hurt.  We had a large portion of people stay at the church because it was so cold and we were fortunate to have my husband's jazz band play during that time to keep everyone entertained while we were out for the burial.  I saw the funeral director today and he said he wishes that he could have a band like that for all funerals because it was a wonderful tribute and very positive.  I was also rather unusual in that I had a life size photo poster made of my husband so people could have their last photo opportunity with him.  It made people laugh and people actually did it with their cell phones so it was great.  My husband always liked to make people smile and laugh so it helped which again the funeral director had never had, but said it was a nice touch.
For my card I tried to use bright colors to feel warm and the yellow for hopes of sun.  I just love this image since we have three cats.  The sentiment is from TLC.

Celebrate green things

I'm far from Irish, but I had to make this make card using the new image from A Day for Daisies and a sentiment from TLC.  The patterned papers are also from TLC.  The bottom strip is a piece of paper I had in my stash as well as the circle.  Hopefully this card will bring some good luck and we won't get too much snow tonight - I am sooooooo sick of snow blowing and shoveling!!!

The other night, I colored this adorable image from Sassy Cheryl so I wanted to put it together.  I used a sentiment from TLC.  This image reminds me of my son with his Build a Bear, back in the day.  Now for Valentines he gave his girlfriend a HUGE teddy bear.
