Winter Is...

Today at Catch the Bug it's Friday Freebie again and there is this adorable image of Winter Birds - Skate.  For this I used a sentiment from TLC, Create.   When I was a kid, we used to skate during our recess after lunch which would never happen now due to safety concerns.  We had a blast and I used to skate with my children. I think that it would be helpful to have our youth do more play outside instead of all the inside computers and games.  Oh well, what do I know.

Patterned Paper:  Paper Studio
Cardstock:  Bazzil; Recollection; Paper Studio
Stamp:  Bugaboo - Wild Birds Skate
Sentiment;  TLC, Create - Winter is poem

Ink:  Memento - Rich Cocoa; Distress Oxide - Broken China
Stencil: My Favorite Things

What a beautiful card!! I love the skating bird and the sentiment!! My Dad built my sister and I a skating rink in our back yard...I would spend hours out there on the ice. Definitely my favorite winter activity :) Have a great weekend!! Big hugs :)

Such a lovely card, that skating birdie is so cute, lovely papers and layout too.
I agree with you about getting the kids outdoors and active, used to be a scout leader and will never forget the fun those kids had playing outdoor games and getting out into the woods and countryside...even the 'addicted-to -computer- gamers'!
Hope you and your family have a fabulous Christmas.

Hi, Lisa! Your little skater is darling! I love the happy colors and your pretty coloring inside each of those little squares in the scarf! Wow! Jodie always draws the sweetest elements - like that little sideways heart opposite the ice skate. Wonderful! So glad I got to see your critter project showcased at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge. Thanks for supporting us, and we hope to see more of your pretty creations in the future. Please check back to see if you are a winner or A Designer Favorite. Sending you wishes for a wonderful day!

This is sooooo cuuuute! Love the skating birdie! We did a lot of skating when I was young too - but I never actually learned to properly skate! Still had fun though! I agree - kids today are missing out on a lot of fun! Wishing you Happy Holidays!
