We are having a a hot, humid stretch that started so making a beach card was a great idea today. I used this great image from Gecko Galz and I have a net like die behind that I distressed with tan and gray inks and put some thread behind the image to give the feel of seaweed. With this gal pulling her hair back it let's you think there is a gentle breeze - I'm sure that she is not sweating like we are in this heat, lol. I will be entering this in the
I have another beautiful image from Gecko Galz for the Monthly card Challenge which is to use this unicorn. I used glitter papers in silver, black, turquoise and blues. I used lots of different styles and sizes of bling and gems. And there are Spellbinder dies, star punches and roses.
It's been quite a while since I last posted in this blog, but I wanted to have this adorable Christmas card that I made for the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge. I printed the image on glossy photo paper and the DCWV Christmas paper has silver foil so that it shines nicely.
Today we have it raining all day and I have large puddles all over my yard. The birds were playing in them and it was driving my cat crazy. I know we need the rain, but I want more sun and some warmer weather. I made this card at the beginning of the month, but just haven't had a chance to post it. It is using some dies that I have had and just not used.
I colored this image a long time ago, but found it now when I was moving. I put it together at the beginning of the month, but didn't get a chance to post it until a few minutes before the sketch challenge closed, whew. I just wish that I had more time to play; however, work and my daughter's wedding planning is keeping me busy. I just love this image and didn't want to let it go to waste.

I have an aunt that likes chickadees so I ordered a die just for making a card for her. It has been on back order so it just made it and my card ended up being a little late.

Well my good friend Carol explained to me how to make a diamond point card because she is soooo talented and she wins so many challenges. So I just had to try it out. I pulled out an image that I had colored in my stash from Torico when she used to sell her own digital images. I had this printed so long ago that I don't even know the name of the image. I was able to find a few die cuts and an apple Martha Stewart punch, and voila.
This year, I just hadn't had the time to sit down to find and make Halloween cards. Then I received this beautiful card from a fellow nurse, Arlene when I was feeling stressed and it just made my day. One day I hope to be a nurse just like her......RETIRED, but that seems so far off, lol. So I thought that I should make a new Halloween card to send her, but oh my where are my distress oxides and even worse my Halloween stamps? So I decided to use an image from Beccy's Place Toil and Trouble and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things BB witch way is the candy. I found my box that had my twine so I added plenty of that on my tag.

Cupcake Inspiration - Ch. 530 Halloween Fun
Well I know it's been a long time since I have posted. I am in the processing of selling my house, but in July I moved into a condo. I still have not unpacked my crafting supplies and my family was shocked that I had to have the movers come back a second day because I had soooo many things in my basement for craft supplies. Unfortunately my 13 year old Siamese cat passed away a month before the move and I was devastated. It was the first time that I was alone in the house. The day after I moved into my new place I got myself a new lilac lynx Siamese kitten that I named Polly after my great Grandmother Appolonia. This kitten is polydactyl, which is that she has an extra digit on each paw. So it's like she has a thumb and it looks like a mitten. Breeders consider it a sign of good luck and having her is she is my good luck charm. She is adorable and makes me smile and laugh. So that's life. I am still trying to adjust to the new place and slowly find some time to craft.
I had to make a card for a friend who had a birthday this month. I used an image from Homebrew Herman from Dr. Digi's. And I put Glossy Crackle on the beer mug. I also used the background paper from Dr. Digi's beer backing papers.

I think that we all have days when we want to scream and can understand when someone does. Especially during these crazy Covid pandemic times. I think that everyone has their own personal issues and then we just add the layers of dealing with others, politics, finances, health, personal believes, faith and we just get blasted with social media and it's overwhelming. As a nurse that gets to review inpatient hospital stays I can honestly say that people are having more mental health admissions, suicide attempts, alcohol and drug related admissions, accidents and then just not going to the doctor so more late diagnosis of cancers, heart disease and many conditions.
That's why I make my cards to de-stress. Please remember to find time for "you" and take care of yourself. Hugs.
