I wish you comfort

I made this card as a sympathy card.  This past week, my best friend's step-son died in a car accident so I will be attending a wake with another friend later today.  Unfortunately, he leaves behind a wife along with two daughters age 3 and 8.  The family is in shock.

You would lose your head

My wonderful son is 17 years old and is a senior this year. Now, I love the kids unconditionally, but there are times he drives me crazy.  He has a habit of misplacing things and then when you are in a hurry he can't find it so it is a panic.  For instance, his senior pictures he couldn't find his purple tie that I know he wore for our Christmas picture.  So he ended up wearing my husband's tie.  For his pictures he wore quite a few different outfits and has 189 proofs to choose from.  Naturally the one, that I am interested in is the one in which he is wearing the purple tie.  Now since my husband is in hospice care, I don't think that my son thinks about the fact that the kids pictures are on the wall and that I will always know it is Jeff's tie and that does bother me.  In a way it is special, but I also find it sad.  When my son does this I have said to him, "It is lucky that your head is attached or you would lose that."  Now Torico just came out with this new image and I couldn't resist getting it to make a card for guess who?  I asked Paulette at TLC to make the perfect sentiment and she was so kind to do so.  Now I have the PERFECT Halloween card for Trevor.

Harvest of memories

On Thursday we went to visit my Mother-in Law.  She lives alone, but is very independent.  One thing that we do for her is some of her laundry because we don't want her going downstairs in her house.  So when we got home the other day I just through it in the washer right away and before I knew it I set her laundry basket down and our male cat claimed it.  I had to laugh since he thought he found a new home.  So I called my MIL and told her that she may have lost her laundry basket since Casio runs things in our house.  She laughed, but he did give it back so I could put her towels and sheets in it.  He was my model for my card.  So my husband said to me while I was coloring, "Where is Casio now?" (wondering if he was still in the basket) and I held up my picture.  He said I did it too dark - more like the other two Siamese cats we have.

Birthday cake

It was my best friend's birthday on Tuesday and she has been away at a conference so we haven't had a chance to celebrate yet.  I had a card that I was planning to give her, but since I had time, I decided to make another.  I used a birthday cake from Bugaboo and the inside sentiment is from TLC.  I put Glossy Accents on the pink frosting layers and Stickles on the candle tip.  I also put some Liquid Pearl on the die cut.

A big BOO to you

Here is another Halloween card that I made using items from Paulette's wonderful club at TLC.  For this card I distressed the papers. The black paper for the die cut and the sentiment are Core-dinations papers in which the top is black and the back is grey so when I sanded it the color came through.  I embossed the circle for the backing of the sentiment and lightly sanded it, I rubbed ink around the white paper.

All you need is love and...

Paulette has a wonderful club going right now with great sentiments and images at TLC.  Hopefully she will include these in the store since I think they are adorable. (She has included both, in the same set so I have the link below.)  The background paper is also from TLC.  Now with this sentiment, who doesn't love Halloween candy and go through the stash before the holiday?
