Penguin Gift

I made this card a while back, but just haven't had a  chance to post it. I am trying to meet my quota of several Christmas cards a month.  This is using a Bugaboo image called, Poppi Penguin Christmas Present. I did this in non-traditional Christmas colors, and I dry embossed the backgrounds.

We are getting to the end of the Catch the Bug Down on the Farm 10th Annual Birthday Bash. Today is a Color Challenge and for my card I used Ewe Move Me and a sentiment which is retired from Verve. We are going to have it with wind chills today around -10. I just took my garbage out and the wind is a blowing - nasty. So I wanted to keep things sunny and bright so I added a huge button to my Spellbinder die cut to look like a sun. Welcome to my new members Corry and Connie.

Today at Catch the Bug starts a new challenge and it's Inspired by a Movie/Film.  For my card I used Gus Birthday - Rocking Chair which reminds me of of Grump Old Men or Grumpier Old Men. I used Glossy Accents on the glasses and balloon. I just love the sense of humor of these movies.

On Sunday when I went for my brother's surprise party and I was talking to my Mom about the cards that I will make for her stash, I was asking if she wanted sentiments on the inside or blank like I made for my daughter. My daughter said that she needed more cards and so did my son. So I guess I need to increase everyone's quota of "stash" cards.  So I have more work than I thought, lol.
Since my daughter is a teacher she wants thank yous to give to her kids/families that help her or do something special.  So this one is made with an image from Imagine That Digistamp called Punny Thanks.

Today starts a new challenge at Catch the Bug and it's a Recipe (2 Patterned Papers, 2 ribbons and 2 buttons). For my card, I used the image Critter balloons - elephant along with a sentiment from TLC, Create.  I did a layer of Crakle Accent and then Glossy Accent on the balloon. Check out to see what all the other DT members made.
I was talking to my Mom (who is retired) and asked her if she had sent a birthday card to her sister and she said "No, I've been too busy to go buy one."  She hates to ask me to make cards for her because she says I'm too busy with working and everything. However, since I make cards it irritates me that she purchases cards and I have to make my DT cards anyway.  So I offered to make her some as time permits to increase her stash of birthday and sympathy cards which seems to be her need.

Today there is a new Stella Sketch at Catch the Bug, and I used Lion Topper and a sentiment from TLC, Create.
This week was busy, on Friday I spent the day in my daughter's classroom she had "Jump Rope for Heart" and their Valentine Party.  The day went fast.  Then I spent the night at my parents so that I could attend a funeral on Saturday.  My Mom helped me pin my dress for her Anniversary so that I can hem it.  Amanda took Gus to get a hair cut so I have before and after pictures of my Grandpup.  I also have a picture of a surprise that I received on Valentines.

Bugaboo has a new release today of Fall Fox.  For this card, I used a sentiment from TLC, Create.  I think a fox is a wonderful and fun creature and my daughter gets mad at me, but I love that song, "What does a Fox Say?"  It is my weird sense of humor.

Snow Play Vintage

I made this easel card using an image from TLC, Create as well as a Christmas sentiment.  I also made it as a brown monochrome card.  I used some textured paper and used a die cut to put it behind the image and sentiment.  I added some white acrylic paint on the flowers to look like snow.  I pulled out some gold photo corners, buttons, and ribbon.
