It is almost here

Spending time with family is wonderful, but sometimes it splits you going in different directions.  We are going to have a celebration on Saturday with my family so that we can celebrate on Sunday with my husband's family.  So later today we will be heading 110 miles north and coming back so that tomorrow we can head 75 miles south.  That's how we will have to hop for this holiday.

Today is my son's birthday, I just can't believe that he is 15 years old.   There are times that life seems to pass by too quickly.

Daffodils and snow

We actually had our daffodils starting to bloom, but then yesterday we had snow, hail, and sleet.  It was a yucky weather day.  I wonder what this will do to our blooming flowers.  It is predicted to only be around 50 degrees for Easter - let's just hope it won't snow.

Karen's Doodles Challenge is for a Happy Birthday card.  I used the Bigsby Gift digital image and a free download of 15 to try to make it for a card for my son.  As I was saying before I am having difficulty coming up with the perfect birthday card for him.  I may give this card to my daughter to give to him for his birthday since I'm still not sure this is the one that I want to be from me.  I have a few more days.

My son's birthday is next Friday and I'm still not feeling that this is the birthday card that I want for him.  I think this Bugaboo Sean is adorable, but not the "right" one.  Doesn't that just drive you nuts when you start with an idea, but then it just doesn't feel the way you want when it is completed.  Maybe I'm just trying too hard since he is in this difficult age of not being a kid, but not yet an adult.  Ugggh!

Spice It Up

Kenny K Challenge this week is to Spice It Up which I think is rather funny since many of the images are rather spicy by themselves.  So how do you do that?  I thought I would use a different color combination since many of the images use red for that hot look.  I found this color pattern that I thought would work.  I did her hair in a shade of orange for a more spicy look with an olive cowboy hat.

Admitting to addiction

My husband did some grocery shopping a couple weeks ago and he bought some Jolly Time Blast O Butter popcorn to try.  Since he has cancer and has lost quite a bit of weight he needs the calories; however, the rest of us do not.  It tastes WONDERFUL and just like the movie popcorn!  My daughter and I are now addicted.  I find that I am buying several boxes each week at the grocery store.  It is so bad that my daughter went to school today with a baggie of green grapes and popcorn for snacks.  She popped the popcorn in the morning at 5:30 which I'm surprised didn't wake my husband up from the sound and the smell.  Next week I'll have to make her a card with the image I have from Karen's Doodles with the girl eating popcorn and put it in her backpack as a surprise.  There............now I feel like I went to confession, but I don't know that I will give up my addiction just yet.
