Warm winter fun

We had warmer weather today with it getting to be about 20.  Later today we are to get some snow which hopefully will stop since my daughter is to come home for the weekend.  I just that this image was so fun from QKR and the sentiment is from TLC.  When I showed my husband the card, he laughed and liked how I colored the shadow on the abdomen which he thought looked like him.  We both had a good chuckle.

Box of hearts

Here is my daughter's Valentine card using an image from Krista Smith and a beautiful sentiment from TLC.  This is so fitting for my daughter since she likes to wear Ugg boots and dresses.  Since she is short, I'm sorry height challenged she doesn't like to wear jeans rather I can actually say she HATES them.  She is a girly girl and a true princess as she prefers to be called.  I do think she is a sweetie with a big heart.  I tried talking her into being a nurse because she has a lot of compassion, but she wants to be a teacher.  That is why I think the sentiment is perfect for the card and the girl.

Sign Love with heart balloon

I think this Mo Manning image is just so precious with the little girl "signing" love.  I know my nephew does learn some sign language in his day care which I think is wonderful.  When I was growing up we didn't learn any of that unless we watched Seasme Street.  For this card I inked around the sentiment in brown ink and added Glossy Accent to the balloon.  I also added a row of bling to the bottom of the lace - what little girls don't like bling?

Hug in an envelope

With making my own cards, I tend to mail a lot of them to my family and many of my cards require extra postage so I wasn't happy with the increase that went into effect this weekend.  I feel I pay my fair share since I go to the post office on a regular basis because of my cards.  I also have my daughter and step-kids that I send "care" packages to.  For this card I did use a pop dot on the one letter and I have to say that I thought about it before I did it because I knew it require extra postage.  So since I was at it I also added a Joilee heart.

Baby it's cold outside

Well, it is true....it is VERY cold outside.  We had windchills of -20 today and no school again.  The wonderful sentiment is from TLC. The image is for a progressive challenge at Digi stamps 4 joy.  I did lightly chalk the outside of the image which doesn't show up well in the photograph.  Only a few more days until a new challenge and a new image - I'm excited to see what is next.

Here is my last birthday card for the Catch the Bug birthday challenge.  I also realized it is six months until it is MY birthday, not that at my age you get excited about these things.  This card is using the Friday freebie image and a wonderful sentiment from TLC.  Since Bugaboo is four years old the card has to have something with four on it so I put four pink pearls.  I also inked the embossed on the strip of paper and the Spellbinder with blue ink.

Fireman is four

Birthday Chick

For this birthday card I added some bling along with distressing and Glossy Accents on the sunglasses.  Unfortunately this chick is like many of us that are getting to be at the "right" age when when we gain some weight in the middle.  However, we still all have our New Year Resolutions, that is why Target is still selling exercise clothing and supplies. Well, my chick is strutting her stuff today.

Friends forever

Paulette at TLC has a wonderful new set that is coming out and here is a preview of one of the sentiments.  The vintage image is also from TLC and I put a digital paper over the top that looks like an old piece of paper.  When I showed the card to my husband he said it was "pretty, but busy".  Lately with him being so ill, I have been making more CAS cards because he would get nervous and panic when I was downstairs working on a project as well as he has required much more of my time.  Today, while he took a nap I was able to work on this easel card.

I need some birthday cards, and it is perfect that Bugaboo is having a birthday celebration so I used this image along with a sentiment from TLC.  On Friday I was able to spend some time with a friend who will be having her birthday the first week in February.  She was showing me a dress in her bedroom and I happened to notice all the cards I have made for her over the past year displayed on her bookshelf.  That made me feel good since I know she appreciates them.
