Rest in Peace

I have had the "Help for Katie" logo on my blog for quite some time now, but it is unfortunate that she passed away yesterday from stage IV stomach cancer.  Her husband has some very nice postings on her blog  http://katiespaperhaven.blogspot.com/  .  She fought a good fight and went through a lot so hopefully now she can rest in peace.  I wish only the best to her husband and three sons.  It is wonderful that there has been so much support from our crafting world.

Classic

My Uncle Dennis has a birthday next week and so I made this card for him.  I used a new Tim Holtz die that I got of the car.  I stamped the kraft paper with weathered wood ink to give it that old distressed look.  The background paper that looks like newsprint is a stamp that I found in my stash from Glitz Design which I stamped with Memento ink.  I used the new Authenique paper Free Ride which I thought coordinated perfect for this card.

Extra hour

Tonight is when we get to "turn the clocks back" an hour and I can't believe that I actually made a card during my extra hour that involved a clock.  I used the Tim Holtz Sizzix die cut with this cute image from Tiddly Inks called "tankerfairy sits".  I also used some Prisma pencils on the hair and blended them with mineral spirits on a base coat of Copics.  The second card reminds me of my daughter who dressed her cat up for a "photo shoot" a few years ago because she loves her cat dearly and wanted a picture with him.

November already

I can't believe that we are in November already.  There are so many Christmas ads and decorations that it seems as if we have passed Thanksgiving.  I feel that I am far behind so that made a couple of Christmas cards to try to catch up.  Even when I showed them to my husband this morning he commented about the fact that it isn't that far off.

Christmas critters

Both of my cards today involve Christmas critters.  My first card, has a new image from Kenny K with dancing reindeer with a lot of bling.  I thought that this new image was just too cute, and would be perfect for a couple of my girlfriends.  I also thought my daughter might like this one for some of her dance friends.  It is just a fun one.  The second card uses an image from Crafty Sentiments, and I put him in the new Colour Q line up so it isn't the traditional Christmas colors.

Hair raising

I just love Mo's digital images, and my first ever digital image that I started with was "Angelina's balloons".  For the card I made, I actually colored the image last summer when we were on vacation, and just never found the time to put it together.  I thought it would work for Mo's challenge this week which is celebrations.  This just reminds me of my daughter who has the finest hair and what balloons would do to her.
