Tie your dreams

I made this card for the Mo Manning Challenge for K is for "kite".  I made a kite using the die cut from My Favorite Things and added some Stickles glitter.  I also used the cloud dies and added some ink around the edges.  The sentiment is from a set at TLC.  Also in honor of Sunday Sketch and Stamp 200th Sketch I used Sketch 195.

Welcome to the Wonder Years

I decided to make this masculine card for Meljens and then I just love this sentiment from TLC.  For this card I also did some stitching and I embossed a flourish on the orange cardstock and rubbed black ink on it.  I never seem to have enough masculine birthday cards on hand so here is one to add to my stash.

Warmest Thoughts Especially For You

This week I had a chance to play with the Mojo sketch.  I used one of this weeks freebies from TLC for the sentiment.  I have had my cats following me around.  I had one at my feet while I was typing my post.  One sitting where I threw some grocery bags on a  chair to do some packing of items and one next to my chair talking.  I took some pictures of them, but they are lonely without my husband and visitors in the house.

Ding Dong Spring Calling

This is the hope, that spring is finally calling, it is to be 44 today and expected to get to be around 59 on Sunday, yahoo!  Hopefully all the white stuff will be GONE!!!  It has been raining so it has been muddy so I'm just glad that I don't have a dog that I have to wipe paws.    I finally made my progressive card for From the Heart, just in time I know.  The twist of the sketch was to be interactive so I put a pipecleaner on the back of the sentiment so it is able to move and wiggle.

Easter Celebration

I haven't been around on the blogs much, and I'm sorry that I haven't been out making comments; it's been hard keeping up with everything the past few weeks.  With my husband passing away there has been a lot of phone calls and paperwork to get done.  I haven't begun to go through his things yet, I'm just trying to write thank you notes and get the basics done.  I have continued to work, which being a hospice nurse has been difficult since we have had quite a few deaths and there have been long nights.  This past weekend I did Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I thought I was going to pass out after that stretch.  It has taken me all week to recover.  There have been some good things, my kids have been wonderful and so have my step-kids we check on each other on a regular basis so we have grown closer.  We have miles between us, but we find ways to stay in touch.  I'm proud of the kids and how they are checking on each other also.  I just never thought it would hit me as hard as it did.  Being that I work with this all the time, I thought I would be alright with it and know that my husband was now in a "better place" and no longer suffering with pain.  I  overlooked my loss with the situation or at least thought it would be less.....which makes it frustrate me even more.  I don't like feeling like a wounded puppy, and I don't like loss of control.  My husband taught for over 36 years and here I get to learn more lessons from his death.

The Magic of Christmas

Well as it happens we are getting a few flurries of snow as we speak....even though it is spring. It is to warm up the next few days so it isn't anything that is to last, but it is getting old to see the white stuff at the end of March.  Digi stamp 4 Joy has a Christmas progressive Challenge and this month the stamp was a grouping of sentiments.  What I did was to put the sentiments over a digital background paper from TLC, and then added some Ice Stickles to the snowflakes.
