Poppy Group It's Your Birthday

I have a bunch of Lavinia stamps and I just love the silhouette images. I needed a couple of birthday cards so I just grabbed my Distress Oxide inks, painters tape and blending brushes and picked three colors. Then I stamped my flowers and added a cute butterfly from the Fairy Bugs set. I heat embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts.

I have set a goal to use my stash of dies that has a layer of dust on them and have never been used. For this one I was encouraged by the photo inspiration for JUGS. I used Sizzix, Impression Obsession and Die Version. I dry embossed the white background with Cuttlebug folder. For the watercan I ink distressed it with distress ink of Old Paper and Tea Dye. I had fun using my scraps.

It's You and Me against the world

I have been seeing everyone's gorgeous cards and I had to make just one. I have been overwhelmed by life, but had to take the time since I have so many coffee "things".  So I grabbed two different Tattered Angel Mist brown sprays for the background. I had some paper scraps of  paper that I had made by blending my Distress oxide inks together and die cut a small Spellbinder coffee cup.  I had a sentiment from TLC Create.  Then added a some twine, Spellbinder butterfly circle and flowers. There now I won't feel so jealous and left out, but I will need the coffee since I stayed up later than usual, lol.

I had this image that I had printed off a long time ago and it was sitting in my craft area and I finally put it together. It is from Faery Ink and my sentiment is from TLC, Create. Since Saturday was the first day of spring and I am so ready for it, I had fun putting this card together. I added sparkle to the wings with a Spectrum Noir pen which doesn't show up well in the photo.

Dancing Anniversary Couple

At the end of this month, my parents will be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary so I thought I better be prepared and get my card together. I used this fun set from Art Impressions again, Perfect Duo. Now my Dad has all his hair and hardly any gray/white so I tried to add hair to this bald image and it didn't go well so I made my own baseball cap which is fitting for him. I heat embossing the sentiment and dry embossed the background.

Polish Merry Christmas

We didn't always celebrate our heritages and diversity is a new concept. My father is born here in the US and so were his parents, and grandparents. However, they settled in an area in Wisconsin where there were people of Polish decent that spoke a dialect of Polish. So when my Dad when to school he knew how to speak this Polish and not English.  He went to a one room school house and had to stay in from recess to get extra English lessons. To this day he can not say words with "th" and has even gone for speech therapy. 
I made a Merry Christmas card using a die cut from Memory Box.

Each month I try to keep up with a stash of cards for Christmas and sympathy. For this sympathy I went out of the box and made a slim line design using my new dies from Studio Katia. And I used a sentiment die cut from Creative Expressions.  Then I pulled out some punches from Tonic for the flowers and Martha Stewart for the butterflies.

I have two cards that I made using a stamp step from Picket Fence Studios and then I used my own sentiments that I printed off on the computer. For both of these card I used my Distress Oxides to make a blended page using Squeezed Lemonade, Pine Needles and Twisted Citron. On the one card I dry embossed a piece of the cardstock. Lately I just have a taste for some zesty limes and I tend to add it to my water....along with some lemon, oranges and strawberries for a fruity flavored water.

CIJ Day 1 at CTB Have yourself a merry little Christmas

Well it's here....Day 1 of the Christmas in July at Catch the Bug and there are lots of prizes and surprises a long the way. Today we start with creating a card or project with using the picture of Santa's workshop. During the celebration we are also going to be honoring Julie Temple our DT member that recently passed away. As I put on my Facebook, with losing my husband, I know that God takes some of the wonderful people too soon, but then they are able to watch over us. I just hope that Julie is able to give me some creative vibes since she was so talented. I realize that I colored my elf to look like her. I also have candy canes which are so sweet like my friend. Also my daughter LOVES them. I would buy boxes of the mini ones and she would pack them as snacks. I think to her they are a food group, lol.
