Christmas Chickadees

I like to get several Christmas cards done each month so that I don't have to scramble at the end of the year. I found in my stash that I had printed a free picture quite some time ago of these beautiful Chickadees and had this evergreen scrap of paper I don't know the maker of either of them. I embossed a woodgrain background and die cut a pine cone with glitter and liquid pearl. I didn't add a sentiment since I was trying to keep it simple and peaceful.

CIJ Day 5 at CTB Gus Christmas I tried

Today it's Day 5 of the Christmas in July celebration at Catch the Bug and the theme for today is to make us laugh. For my card I used the image, Gus I tried Christmas List.  I feel that is my list too, lol. I added Glossy Accents to his glasses and Sakura Jelly Glitter Pen to the ornaments.  Gus doesn't look too sorry that he downed a few beers, it must be his weekend binge which is like a lot of people who I know around here. Good thing he has those reindeer. I actually did a CAS card even though I just had to put a strip of patterned paper....too much white freaks me out, lol.  Welcome to A. Rose my new follower who I have seen on both my design teams and she has lots of great creations.

Flat out

Well my work has just been busy and life has gotten crazy. So I have nothing wrong, just not much time to craft or post. The other thing is that I have had a life of not sleeping much during the week so that I could stay up late or early into the morning with only getting a couple hours of sleep. And then trying to catch up on the weekends. My Mother, kids and doctor are after me that this is not healthy! And as a nurse I know that it is true. I just have looked at it as I have always behaved my entire life and now was my time to be "naughty" and do what I wanted. However, my doctor is threatening me that I am setting myself up for a heart attack. So.....I have been trying, and it's difficult to get more sleep. Since my husband passed away, my finance broke up with me, my cat and I have our own schedule. So working nights for years has allowed me to get away with little to no sleep, but I do have to take care of myself so I can enjoy my grandpups and children.
Here is a card using a stamp and sentiment from Judith and Heather. And I actually made a CAS card which is a big accomplishment for me.

Pet Sympathy Cards

We are struggling with the lockdown and challenge of not knowing what to expect and stress of change. However, it also affects our critters. I am amazed at home many pet sympathies I had to make. To I made a group of 4 similar CAS designs since I need so many. I have had two lose cats and 2 lose dogs.  One that lost a dog also had their cat get seriously injured.  So then that's just another stress losing a pet during this difficult time. I lost a cat a few months ago and I know my other cat is still struggling with the lose of her sister. So we can just love our critters and I know that they are trying to help us cope.

Today I made another birthday card for my stash. I used my new Spellbinder Hot Foil system for the die and sentiment.  I dry embossed the background and then added some lace, ribbon and flowers.  The only green that I could get was on the leaf of the flower embellishment.

Butterfly foil TMS 553

Today starts a new challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  For my card, I used my Spellbinder Glimmer Hot Foil System to make the Glimmering butterflies. And I had some DCWV paper with butterflies that had some metallic pages in the pack that went well with this image.  I found a butterfly embossing folder for the background. I didn't put a sentiment on it since I thought I could use it for a birthday, thinking of you or sympathy depending on my need.

Deer Scene Merry Christmas

Well I know it's the beginning of May, but since it's my goal to complete several Christmas cards each month I thought I would do one right away.  I used this die cut that I have in my stash with this deer scene and added a blended distress oxide background. I have a co-worker who is struggling with the Co-vid virus and all the precautions. She suffers from OCD and then having this added is just too much. But trying to give her a card is difficult because she won't open it. So I thought that I would email it to her. Tim Holtz has the Snarky Cats, which fits her personality. I have so many designs of things that I want to do, but then I get caught up with having to make the required cards for my DT work, family/friend birthdays/events and then that regular job that interferes with my crafting. So I was so excited today when I got a chance to make a fun card for my OWN stash. This is using mint and black some colors that I really like.  I took an image that from Pattie's Creations Party Gnomes and only used one of them. I added Glossy Accents to the heart.

Love Ewe CAS

Well I hope that you had a great Valentines. I just had work and the love of my two Siamese cats....I did get a text from my daughter. I actually got my cats a haircut the day before so they are cuddly not sure if it's because they are cold or just didn't like leaving home, lol.
This week there is this adorable sheep, Love Ewe at Catch the Bug. I colored mine as a "black" sheep which I thought was fitting since I think that they are just so cute. And they need love too!
