Poinsettia with embossing

The past few years it has been my goal to make at least 2 Christmas cards each month and I have done well.....until this year. I'm quite behind in my holiday cards. I have tried to do some cleaning in my craft area and I found this wonderful freebie from Beccy's Place that I colored long ago and had sitting in a pile waiting to be put together. So I played instead of cleaned....again. I dry embossed the background and heat embossed the Tim Holtz sentiment.

Dancing Anniversary Couple

At the end of this month, my parents will be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary so I thought I better be prepared and get my card together. I used this fun set from Art Impressions again, Perfect Duo. Now my Dad has all his hair and hardly any gray/white so I tried to add hair to this bald image and it didn't go well so I made my own baseball cap which is fitting for him. I heat embossing the sentiment and dry embossed the background.

Ladybug Birthday Wishes

Today at Catch the Bug starts a new Saturday Challenge in which the theme is a BINGO.  For my card, I used part of the 3 Square Floral Thinking of You and the sentiment is from a retired Verve set that I heat embossed. The background has lines and dots which is dry embossed, the photo doesn't show it well. I did some faux stitches.  So I was able to do a white out or complete BINGO card.  My player's choice was a sentiment  I used a Martha Stewart ladybug punch and some ribbon. So go see what the team did and join in. There is a cute bee freebie for the week.

Today we have a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and for my card I made a monochromatic red card using a die cut from My Favorite Things and also heat embossed a sentiment from the All About You.  I dry embossed the white paper and put a white flower with a red enamel center on one side of the sentiment and a button with twine on the other.

White Christmas? Santa should move South

Today starts a new challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches and for my card I used some wonderful stamps and dies from Creative Vision Stamps called Elf This.  I dry embossed the background with snowflakes and heat embossed the sentiments.  I also used a Cherry Lynn snowflake die for the center with an enamel dot.
I just got new tires for my vehicle so I'm ready for the snow....argh they cost so much!!!

Sweet winter wishes coming your way

We had actual temp of 41 so it was 50 degrees warmer than yesterday - WOW!!!  It feels like a heat wave!!!  It will only be a few days, and by Sunday we will be back down to 9 and below zero wind chills again.  People's mood changes so drastically with the weather so hopefully they will be HAPPY for the next few days.  They said it has been 40 days since we had it this temperature.
For my card, I used the My Favorite Things Sketch.  I tried to have it look like a tree with some wildlife and a winter scene.  I heat embossed the sentiment in navy.  Added some stickles on the hats and the top of the snow.

There's no place like HOME

I have this wonderful die set from My Favorite Things and I really struggled with what sentiment to use for the card.  I wanted a card for my stash for a new home.  It's just "my issue" because with my husband passing away I struggle whether I want to stay in my house or sell it.  There are the memories in it of raising my family and now I have done a lot of remodeling yet I feel haunted by the memories at times.  Let me tell you in a couple more weeks I will have wished I sold it when I have to rake all the leaves!!!
For this card, I embossed the sentiment in white.  And I cut out all the die pieces for the home and put a heart on the roof.  One of the clouds is on a foam glue dot to stand out.  And I dry embossed the white background.

Oh baby

I have had this image colored for so long, and finally got it put together!  It is a baby ladybug image from Miss Rach.  She also has one with a bow on it.  These images are so reasonable at $1.00 in her ETSY shop.  I heat embossed the sentiment from VERVE.  And then I dry embossed the white background.  I'm just tired of baby cards being pink and blue so I wanted something WILD.  Just like the life of a new parent will be, hehe.

Watervase floral HB

Today I had the pleasure of going to the eye doctor and having my eyes dilated.  I need bi-focal contacts as well as a new glasses prescription so this was a very costly appointment.  I am having some dry eye problems as well as the beginnings of a cataract so I am feeling really old today.
I made a simple card with some cheery colors for the Card Concept Challenge.  I dry embossed a background and wet embossed the sentiment on velum.  The vase has a layer underneath of glossy paper.  I put pre-made flowers in the vase.
