Winter Wishes

In trying to keep up with my Christmas cards for the month here is number 2. And I guess that they were more Winter cards. I tried to follow a couple of themes which was to use a reindeer, house, trees, red/gold, no stamping, ribbon which just fits with my own goal of using some of my die cuts that have been collecting dust. I had fun creating this scene.

Foil Ornament

I had to make another foil Christmas card and I am just having so much fun with this new toy. Especially when I don't have much time to sit and color these days. For this card I pulled out some gold ribbon that I re-cycled which matched perfectly. Also did some die cutting.  I flipped the sketch.

I can't believe we are over half way into May already so we are going to need those Christmas cards before you know it. So to help with that I used the new Tuesday Morning Sketch 555.  For this I used my Minc to foil the sentiment from Creative Visions Stamps.  I added bling and a die cut from Paper Smooches and I put some Glossy Accents in it and colored it with a Copic marker. It's a fun non-traditional monochromatic Christmas card.

He is Risen

I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. I am still working, but my work as a nurse has been slow. I work in insurance and we have less people having surgery and in the hospital. But the people in the hospital are sick. It just makes me sad that no matter how sick they are they can't have many visitors, even if they are dying which breaks my heart. So that's why I craft....to deal with my stress. I was asked why I am making so many cards right now. I cannot see my family or friends and I know that people are suffering physically and emotionally so that is my way of dealing with it.
And for the upcoming Easter holiday in another vintage looking card, I found a freebie image that I had in my stash from Magic Moonlight and a sentiment I put on the bottom from TLC, Create.  I distressed the papers. I added a couple of butterflies with some bling, some roses and a gold ribbon.

Valentine Greetings Vintage card

I have an image from a freebie site from many years ago and I didn't save who the maker was. I distressed the edges as well as distressed the edges of my paper.  This reminds me of my Grandmother who I miss greatly. She always gave such vintage looking cards and had doilies at her home.

Let Love Grow

It's February 1st already! I just can't believe how fast the days are going. Maybe it's because I have to work a full time regular job and don't have as much time to craft as I would like. This month I am a guest designer for Joy of Sets and they have fun tic tac toe challenges. For my card, I used an image from Mo Manning, Let Love Grow with a computer generated sentiment. I couldn't decide which elements to use in the challenge so I went for a full black out of all 9!  I pulled out my Derwent Watercolor pencils which I haven't used in some time so I used Copics on the face ad hair and pencils on the rest. I embossed the vellum and put it on a gold metallic paper. The background purple paper also has streaks of gold.

Peace & Snow

I wanted to make a card that wasn't for a DT. I recently bought some new die cuts and I got this beautiful snowflake panel and thought it would be a great background, but today used it as a focus. I also found a piece of blue vellum that I had that included in this too. I added some bling and pearls to the snowflakes. I also dry embossed the color papers with snowflakes.

I went to a Stamping Conference and got a foil machine. I was like a kid in a candy shop when I saw all the goodies that they had made and the sparkles and shine....I couldn't resist. So since there were a couple challenges with metallics and silver/gold I thought I would do a couple quick cards.  Then since I had my computer, space heater, Alexa and then turned on the foil machine I blew out my power in my office....argh. So once I got the electricity turned back on and a few things turned off I pulled out the foil.  Here are my first two cards.

Today at Catch the Bug there is a new challenge and the theme is Fairy Tale/Fantasy.  I just love this one so actually I made two Belle cards. This second one is using Belle of the Ball. I put a gold doily behind the image along with a bow and roses.  I didn't add a sentiment to this one since I wasn't sure if I wanted it for a birthday or for something else so I thought I could add it later.

A good friend asked me to make a card for her son and daughter in law's 10th Wedding Anniversary which was on St. Patrick's Day. I used a sentiment from TLC, Create and patterned paper. The sentiment is hard to see behind all the sequins in my shaker heart. I put a sticker on the other heart. Naturally I had to include a shamrock and ribbons.  The sequins are gold and there is gold in the bottom ribbon which did't photograph well.

Bear Happy St. Pat's Day

Today it's a New Release Day at Catch the Bug and the image I have on my card is St. Patricks Circle - Theodore.  This bear is just too adorable. I am not IRISH, but have been told that everyone has a touch of green on St. Patrick's Day...so I just go with it. Except no GREEN beer for me...even I have limits. LOL.

So sorry this is a day late on posting, something happened on my auto post.  This was meant to go for the Humor Me at Catch the Bug and it did post on their site. This card is using the image Frame It - Stella Valentines Day.  And how appropriate with Stella to have some falling black hearts.
Seriously hope that you get all the love that you deserve and if you crave sweets then some goodies or flowers or whatever makes you content. My naughty cats got their Valentines gift early because they found the catnip mice and were carrying them around on the cardboard ....which was pathetic so I gave them early.

I wanted to make a variation of the Valentines card using a Spellbinder Swirl Heart in metallic gold and heat embossed sentiment of Always & Forever and this is what I came up with.
For this card I embossed the sentiment on velum and used a ribbon from Stampin' Up.  The background paper is also heat embossed with the white dots.
